[SPOILERS] The Rise and Fall of Whositania (all glory to Whositania!)

I don't recall if it was one of my goals, but at least I wasn't first eliminated, although I wonder how many more will fall during this time period.

Last check I'm down to 3 cities, and I've lost access to all of my strategic resources. I'll probably post the screenshots I've taken once I'm out. It's not much, just a few overshot views of my death. Sorry I haven't been documenting this war at all. Hopefully Cheater Hater has posted some things from his end. I just didn't have the economic or production base to keep up with Cheater Hater. Dtay's attack was the seal but that's fine. Cheater Hater would have made some important gains and then I'd have just been dead walking.

So I'm down to 2 cities and Cheater Hater has been asking for peace the last couple of turns. I've refused because I just want to get killed off but it looks like he's not eager to do that. One of my remaining cities still has a decently sized force inside.

What I'd really like to do is to delete all of my military and invite someone to come finish me off because I really don't want to keep playing as a completely crippled side until someone decides it's convenient to end me, but I'm sure that would be seen as unfair by the other players. blech.

Fight the urge to delete your troops. it wont be long...

Well, I was dumb and walked right into a trap, not like it matters. Krill made it look like his city founded on the ashes of Overland Park was undefended. Moved my army in to attack, and HIS army that was hiding in the fog just smashed my forces. He lost a few catapults and then just clean wiped my forces.

Meanwhile Dtay is rolling up Cheater Hater. I hope someone decides to put me out of my misery soon.

yeah, Krill is pretty good at demoralizing his enemies. It's psychological warfare, right down to his forum name! "Aw, tiny harmless Krill shrimp" you say... right before he burrows into your chest and clamps off you aorta with his little legs.

Y'know I never really made that connection before for some reason. In any case, he's moved a very small force into my territory. 1 movers, so there's probably some 2 movers behind that. He also has a sentry unit in that force. Hooopefully he just finishes me off, but I imagine he and dtay are trying to figure out how to screw each other over after this.

Ding dong I'm dead, Whositania has fallen.

I might try to do some kinda... analysis later, but honestly I'm not sure where to start. I'm pretty sure that my Workboat > Worker opening was correct, but after that.... I tried to focus on expansion and failed. I have to imagine that my city locations were less than ideal. I freaked out about the Zulu and managed the best I could. I recall being reminded about Commodore and the Zulu, but unfortunately I wasn't in the same situation. At least Com had an open backyard and a single front; I had 2 other hostile powers to deal with. I kept my scout alive, but I think I missed some key areas like the area to the east of my capital. Ultimately, we can agree that I failed to build any decent economy and just got left in the dust, especially with my failed attempts to conquer Cheater Hater. I also have to think that few of my cities payed returns quickly. I'm not really sure how to make a new city pay its cost quickly. Anyway, I am eager to read the threads of my neighbors, but also terrified, so I think I'll poke around the lurker thread and examine some remote corner of the world first.

At least I can say that I participated in what was probably the largest game of Civ IV ever.

Okay, Whosit managed to luck into a solid combination that he's nevertheless not very impressed with. I can see it. Berzerkers are awesome and Trading Posts, while nerfed, still lend a very real boost to ships, and Hammurabi is easily one of the cheapest leaders around for empire expense...for all that, his pizzazz ain't. Whosit will sim well but react to sandbox defilement poorly.

Well, this was fairly polite and not inaccurate (I do not react well when my plans inevitably go awry). I think I was just sad about Viking ships losing Nav 1 because I recall an old MP game I played where I did some ridiculous stuff with 4 move galleys.
