Exploit isn't even arguing that he was double moved against, he's aruing that imohtep was which is just silly considering how many turns imo has missed and how little he cares. He's also said he doesn't think it was in bad faith. So no, according to what Exploit is arguing it was at all against the rules.

Now is it a double move against exploit? Not via the written rule no and it'd be pretty hard to say for sure it is against any good faith clause (which is silly as I've said before because nobody will ever really agree on these things). I'm sure exploit isn't making sure to move in order with everybody he considers enemies right now just as nobody else is. If it wanted to be played that way, considering how much everybody distrusts each other right now, you might as well enforce a turn order for everybody.

Interesting to read that thread...

Looks like a decent invasion plan from sunrise. Now taking bets on what kind of rule infringement Exploit will claim on T191.

Is Exploit still playing?

I think he said he'd keep the game going while looking for a replacement.

Well exploit is toast now by the looks of it. His bad diplomacy caught up to him pretty quick. Fairly certain something like this could have been prevented without much trouble. Just wondering whether he's going to do his whole 'gift everything to rego' since everybody has teamed up on him now.

I don't think that's true. They would have ganged up on Exploit no matter what, just because they couldn't afford him to consolidate his gains. He had twice the cities of everybody else, and it would be hard to stop him once he had integrated my north into his realm.

Actually the teaming up on Exploit is another reason that shows me why I dislike the game format we played in RBP1 - in the end, the most skilled player will not win because of teaming up.

The game format itself only gives you a chance to survive if you form some kind of alliance - just look what happened to me when I finally rejected the alliance shift because the new plan was "everybody on Exploit". Or look at sunrise - he's basically playing a puppet civ, his real task is coordinating all the alliances attacks and giving general advice. To me it seems that sunrise and the lukers have played more of rego's Civ than he did himself...

I disagree, though my perspective is that of an outsider to this game. This is not a SP game and this is not a "standard" MP game. A game like this, a large amount of the skill is diplomacy. I think that's a major part of what's made regoarrar so successful in this game is his ability to manage the diplomatic scene and sway people's opinions. Honestly with a game like this, it's kind of like Risk - where you really don't want to be the "clear leader" until you're in a winning position. Regoarrar has acknowledged this recently as he knows he will soon have the target on his back, so he's being careful to manage it and control things so that he is not the subject of the next dogpile.

The "most skilled" player in a Pitboss game isn't necessarily the one who is the "most skilled" at SP civ or traditional MP civ. The "most skilled" player is the one who is best able to manage ALL facets of the game the best, and diplomacy is one of the biggest facets of a Pitboss game, while it's vastly different in SP and nonexistant in MP.

If you call switching alliances when it's in your best interest diplomatic skill, you may be right...

The skill comes in being able to repeat the feat.
I have to run.
