Man those are funny . I'd say send them both at the same time. I'll send in about four hours if there are no objections. I am leaving for two weeks today. I'll have intermittent e-mail access the first week and none the second week.

I think we need to try and make contact with pirates and see if they will work with us against TEAM sooner rather than later.

We could make a diplomatic attempt to settle this TEAM affair, although I don't like the approach I'm thinking would be the one most likely to succeed. The approach would be to point out how a warrior against warrior battle is all about stupid luck and dice rolling and that no one wants the game to be decided like that.

I don't like this because it really does seem to be a good play by TEAM to choke us with warriors. So all our diplomatic attempt would try to do was make them feel guilty about what they are doing. It's a low punch, in my opinion. The chance of it to work, though, is based on the fact that TEAM could be kind of checked out of this game (which is at least a bit likely) and that we are considered the good guys team.

All in all, I don't like this approach, but maybe the rest of the team thinks otherwise (regarding the probability of it to work and the morality of doing it).

I don't think they've checked out. They just have decided to play this game aggressively. It is a move that forces us to make the big desicions. Short term their risk is low. This will only backfire in case we play "irrationally" and start playing in revenge mode. I'm ready to do that, if they put us significantly more behind than we already are. It would be over for both of us, but at least we'll get a big fight while waiting for Gillette to finish us off.

Concerning peace offer. I did it silently in-game and I don't think much further actions diplomatically is needed. They should know what they're doing and why. However I'm not totally against trying, so if you want go ahead draft a message and please put it here and we'll discuss.

My opinion that they may be checking out of the game is more related to the slow pace of the turns than because of their moves. I actually think attacking us is a good move (that sounded strange ).

Regarding TEAM, you have to keep in mind Krill (assuming he is still involved) is not like a normal person. He doesn't make the same considerations, everything is going to be on a cost/benefit basis. Future diplo brownie points just don't figure in. If he can make us do short term bad decisions now, its worth more than hypothetical diplo benefits later, and I think that explains the DoW. I'd say offer peace just once in game and then assume the ball is in their court.

I think they've been pretty set on aggressive play from the start, which I think is perfectly legitimate. Pity we had to start between them and Gillette.
