Well I lost to waterbat. I would be quite impressived if he did not offer a draw early. I did not see his draw offer though maybe by me sucking or chess.com bugging out. The UI puts in an obvious place so I don't think I missed it. So I'm only a little impressed by this.

come on! that was a hard earned victory.

There were TONS of traps in that ending whereby black could force mate.

i felt like after 6...f5 i was playing to win instead of playing to lose - with that protected passed pawn, i had clear objective and purpose for my moves.

When is saying "im a little impressed" bad? Usually win I lose I don't feel impressed at all. I usually think that player just got lucky or studies chess too much. But you had to win a pawn and not mess up. Not get a lucky tatic like how I beat uberfish for example.

LOL I did indeed miss the draw offers from waterbat.

well i blundered against Gusta - pesky knights and their non-linear movement (well, it is linear, but u know what i mean). So that means -- MJW has more pressure to convert his position against G into a win. Those guys are lapping the field! We need some people to step up and play spoilers!

Waterbat, before I dropped out of chess tournys my USCF rating was 1701.

not bad! i'd like to get started again, but stretched for time as it is.

I put our game under some analysis by crafty - its so ugly. I know its a good thing to do, but it always ruins my victories. well ruins the losses too

For example, i stumbled into forced mate twice in that endgame despite being up 2 pawns. I thought I had avoided the "TONS" of traps i mentioned earlier, but apparently i just avoided the obvious ones.
