Square Leg is Garrim Gyrrrrrrr - An Angry Dwarf

My reply:

Depressed Dwarf... Wrote:Hey Serdoa,

Ok, I'll do that. To be fair, It won't actually impinge on your bfc except for 1 tile iirc so no biggie.

I take it your way of handling it will be to just take it from me though... frown

Cheers,
SL

and then a quick chat with Bob:

BAD NEWS Wrote:16:11 me: Serdoa makes me want to cry...
16:12 Ben: haha
why's that?
16:13 me: because he replies to my emails mainly, but no matter how hard I try to get him to declare his intentions.... he never does!!!! frown
Ben: Well.... I have some bad news for you
I did finally get a reply from him
me: aaaannnnndddd..... (holds breath)
Ben: uh, you need more defenders
16:14 me: booo"
Ben: he didn't specifically say that he was attacking you
but he did say that he wasn't attacking me
me: gash - never mind - guess I'm going to get hit in a couple of turns then...
16:15 Ben: I would assume so, yeah.
me: operation dwarf defense put in place but I'm not sure how it will go... Lets see I guess!
16:16 Ben: Good luck!
me: thanks!
cya later
Ben: k

I have said it once and I'll say it again.... GASH.

Lets see if I can hold on then! Turn is waiting for me in my mail box too but I can't play it for a few hours... I hate waiting... even if its waiting for the innevitable sound of dwarf being ripped limb from limb by burning undead jessies... lol

Serdoa is either fooling you to build army or really coming. I think latter option is more likely.

Could you give some screenshots about your military positioning and positioning of the Serdoa's cities. If you want 2nd opinion I could also take a look at the save.

When are you getting BW?

Hey plako,

I'd appreciate that - I'll grab your email from the pb4 thread and mail you today.

Full turn report later on.

Turn 61

So the highlight of this turn was Barnaxus getting his first kill! He took out the Walgna Watio whom I popped from the Broken Sephulcher on T4! Rest in peace Walgna.

The odds were 88% and so he got 4xp! jive Of course he will be promoted to combat 1 giving empower 1 to all golems next turn. Hopefully he will find something else soon to eat to get the 1xp needed for C2.

Other than that not a lot else to say - I changed away from Education to Bronze Working and routed the Settler which completed in Totoro to the copper site in the east.

Yeah - that is correct. I managed to pop it again on T5 and got 85g iirc. The 2nd pop destroyed it. In the creenshot above you can see the raw death mana where it used to stand.

Edit - no you can't see it... It is 2S,1E of the copper tile.

Turn 62

So to start with, here is the power graph:

No new upgrades as of yet so that is good news. Still looking at potentially 5 PZ's at the moment which is good... well, not good but ok.

Originally BW was due in 13t at the start of the turn but I hired 2 scientists and fiddled some tiles to get it down to 10t! Quite pleased with that, my research went from +26bpt to +33bpt which is quite significant considering.

Here is a detailed shot of the surrounding area and where troops are currently. I'll explain some of the markings in a sec:

Another Square Leg paint classic no? lol

So the Settler will found our 3rd city on the copper next turn. The corn is first ring and, although there isn't a great deal of production, I can chain irrigate over there seeing as I already have construction. I think the first build should be a palisade (13 adjusted hammers!) for defense as this is where Serdoa is likely to attack first.

Th Mud Golem (1N of Valley of Wind) wil construct a road on the pink tiles linking the city and giving troops a speed up to the front line. That will be done in 3t. He can then farm the corn or chop or something else depending on the situation. I really need another mud golem or 2 built.... alright

All of the Wood Golems will make their way to the new city and get ready for battle - you can see the empowerment promotion on Sciz the Scary already!

Barny is likely to hang back behind the front lines on the corn tile. If he gets a chance to be of use then I'll take it but I don't want to risk losing him unless totally necessary. He will get +1 strength from copper weapons once BW is in too.

I would like to send one of the warriors currently in Valley of Wind to the hills SW of the AC counter to make sure Serdoa isn't blindsiding me. Must remember this! I should also put a road down on the hill where the simgle warrior is currently stood.

Totoro will continue with 2t Wood Golems for now. I desperately want to get a Mud Golem out too... Maybe if nothing comes from Serdoa I'll do that after the next Wood Golem. Wait and see. The longer he doesn't send anything, the better.

Valley of Wind will continue to pump warriors but it really needs some culture in it! Then it can get some proper hammers from the hills... The Sculpture Studio take something like 8t to complete... meh... another job for my overworked Mud Golem... chop!

Thats about it for now...

So our next city is likely to be the scene of a war. While I was thinking of what to call it I realised that the decision was easy. Studio Ghibli released a film called "Grave of the Fireflies" in 1988.

Animation historian Ernest Rister compares the film to Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List and says, "it is the most profoundly human animated film I've ever seen."

The film is an anti-war animation ond focuses on the fire bombing of Kobe during the 2nd world war. If this thread does nothing else other than persuade someone to watch some the Ghibli movies then I'll be very happy. This tale is a particularly heartwrenching story of a young boy living in Kobe during the firebombings. It also touches on a part of Japan's history that is often forgotten. It brings me to tears everytime I watch it. Here is the trailer

So in homage to this film, our city will be called: Kobe

Kobe was still standing at the end of WW2 and I expect Kobe to still be standing after the attack of the dead on Erebus! lol
