[spoilers] DTG thinks filthy casuals are ruining Realms Beyond

Yessir. (Personally, I'd be surprised if this war went serious places, given that Elkad's culture gives him nigh-unassailable defense pre-Cats and NC lacks a tech advantage, but I follow your logic.)

I see from CivStats that Cairo settled a city last turn; hopefully that was the only Settler he had on short notice and he can't resettle the southern city before we claim it. Speaking of CivStats, uh, nice Oracle by OT4E? gg rest of us?

Thanks. I think it depends upon how Elkad has distributed his troops. This is an old screenshot, but:

NC has a city 1NW of the Deer and declared war on T74. If he moved a stack of a size similar to ours onto the tile 1NW of the Copper, then Elkad won't want to attack out. His Vultures will lose to Axes in the field. *But* this means that, on T75, his Copper can be camped. Then he's stuck building Warriors or Archers that don't gain a 50% boost from being on a hill. Sooner or later, he'll collapse.

Mind you, if he loses that city, we could work the Pigs/Furs/Clams for a while. dancing

The city was elsewhere. 11 cities vs. our 6 now. Whoop. twirl

That makes sense. I don't think it should be that dangerous if Elkad has been careful, but... is he still on 3 cities? Possibly he's checked out.

Mr. Cairo logged in earlier, but didn't end turn, so I didn't log in myself to follow up on the peace. Better to avoid muddying the waters of our turn split.

Well, while I was being virtuous and pausing the game for Old Harry, I noticed that Mr. Cairo did not accept the peace. That's a cool customer over there -- if I were handed a civ who'd just had a city razed and its cities whipped hard, I'd probably snap at a white peace to give myself time to get my bearings. Either he's got a ton of chariots bearing down on us, or he just wants to keep us on our toes instead of freeing up our military for other uses.

Well, I think from his perspective, he has nothing to gain from a 10-turn peace. We're not invading him, and he's already improved the Horses on our border. He might as well keep us locked down and make improving any border tiles a pain.

Anyway, he offered us a ceasefire, which I accepted.

I offered NC a map trade last turn, because I'd noticed that he had Writing and if we need to gift Copper to Elkad, he won't be happy. He accepted, so we know a bit more now about the west, north, and chumchu:

There's not much else to report. Here's the impact of our invasion upon graphs:

Cease Fires mean nothing re war and declarations. Don't think it does.

Would either of you like to offer a dotmap? We'll be moving east:

There's a Settler 1W of Aischrologia. There are 2 Workers 1E of Aischrologia. There's an Archer and an Axe 1S2E of Aischrologia.

Aischrologia itself will have 52/100H in a Settler next turn and could, feasibly, whip away an unimproved Sugar and an unhappy citizen on T79 to get a Settler on T80. But we could also stick at this size and start on a 3-turn Worker.

Metonymy has most of a Work Boat built that could improve the eastern Fish. I think this would improve it on T87.

I don't think we should settle cities if they don't have 2 Workers in the area, or an improved seafood resource. They're becoming quite expensive (northern Fort is about –5GPT until we get it up and running).

I'll start.

I like red where it is because it is protected from the water in the east. We can launch out of this city (with fort) if we want to ... but anyone coming for that city has to land troops.

Green could be 1E to pick up the rice ... but food that can't be protected is a bit of a mugs game.

Pink could be 1NE to share red's food.

Have to take dog for walk. Will be back with some comments soon.

I put red and green on the same spots as Ruff. Pink is never going to amount to much with all its coast and ocean, but I prefer 1NE so it can at least salvage a grassland.

Red looks good to me. I think I'd move Pink 1NE too, because, besides gaining a grassland, the city could share the banana when Calendar is in.

Green might need to be 1E, not because we can claim the Rice, but to give us a safe border city 1S of the Jungle Rice:

Neither is a priority, anyway, and we should probably explore north at some stage.

We'll settle Red next turn. I was thinking "Auxesis" because, well, riverside Corn. And compare the food surplus to our last, almighty city:
