[Spoilers] Amelia, Tempest of the Seas

Go go, Serdoa! It's great that Ilios will now be distracted & easier to surprise attack (not to mention weaker from having lost a city). Btw you can get formal contact with Serdoa fairly painlessly- I think a WB from Cerulean city can reach his borders if you sail north for a few turns. You'll need a boat of some sort eventually to open Maenelus, so I suggest building one soon for the contact & 5% research bonus.

Still waiting for a picture of your map, with dotmap included lol:neenernee

The save hasn't arrived for quite some time =( And it's going to have difficulties, i just spotted the Calabim borders, and it isn't pretty.

New turn finally here! I got a good event, which led me thinking.

Do i want a swordsman, or do i want to recover the pop lost from RoB?

In the end, i went with adding Pop. Too bad i didn't have money for a Settler though, would have taken that in a heartbeat.

So anyway, apart from that, nothing much, which means here is the local for the 3 cities i want!

The one i'm certain i can get, especially if Ilios dies. Sure, it's landlocked, but with all the juicy FPs / resources, it'll be a major city. The reason why i didn't settle this earlier was due to lack of Military protection, and i needed workers for this, not WBs.

Needs a Galley for quick transport, but wow, what a city. 3 coves, Rice, and Fish, and on a Pig for a 3 food city centre. Alternatively, i could put it 1N, depending on resources, but it looks like settling on the pig for the quick Fish (i need more health) seems better.

And here's the troublesome spot:

I really really want this. If Maenalus is good, i can get a Cove + Wheat + something else city. Unfortunately, look at the Calabrim Borders there =( If they attack me, i'll be caught offguard on the other side of the water. Far better to let them take it and then allow me to blast them with Cultists + World Spell if there's war.

Edit: If i have Sun mana, i would start settling the snow below as well. As long as there's space for 1-2 coves, it would be a good city, with Tundra Cottages + 3 food sea tiles to support.

Good call on the event. 65 gold is a lot for a mere 40-hammer unit (even less with civics).

Calabim look to me like the best target after Ilios, although as you point out you'll probably want at least a lot of cultists first.

The Malakim want the FP site... at which i gave up and allowed them to have it. On the condition that i get the pigs/fish/3 cove site.

Why not? I can get it from them later with Saverous anyway.

Edit: CoL in 3 turns, Mind Stapling in. Now, do i finish Saverous right away for the XP, or do i wait until the last minute as a surprise? I'm thinking XP.

Definitely build him now for the exp. Pretty gutsy of the Malakim to demand that site, since it's right next to your capital. When you hit them, make sure you hit them hard.

Any thoughts i had that i might not attack the Malakim were out of the window once i heard that. If we don't kill the Malakim, i'm stuck with 5 cities till scorch. I frankly do not like that.

Do i really need CoL now? I don't even have a single farm out yet lol. I think i need to do a quick stop in Hunting first, because attacking without hawks = suicide.

Yeah, hunting is more useful right now. I think you also lack construction- might want to pick that up soon for catapults. Saverous probably doesn't need them to take out garrisons, but they'd be useful for his backup (as well as defending your own land).
