If he has a problem with it (for some reason?!), then I guess I'll stop. I just come from a community where we're all used to posting friendly reminders to one another to play our turns (especially when Civstats is down), so I'm just doing what I'm used to. It would be odd to me if that was against some kind of rule.
For what it's worth - I think ASM was making a joke referring to PB3. Krill used to relentlessly prod people who were last to play their turn, and he even kept a spreadsheet that got updated after each turn to keep track of who was the worst offenders with being last to play their turn. This went on for so long that it became sort of a running gag. I'm pretty sure that's what ASM was referring to, rather than some actual rule.

Since you're already checking the game frequently and posting updates to this thread, perhaps you could include the current scores each time. It shouldn't involve much extra time, and you may even notice something important to you.
You benefit, nobody has a reason to delay due to a lack of civstats.
Others benefit, they can more easily collect the information they desire without causong a general inconvenience. Sure thing, I'll include the scores from now on. Although hopefully we should be almost at the point where we're switching over to the PlayYourTurn site (Rego said Sunrise would look into it on Tuesday).

By the way, just to check - Sunrise, do you do regular reboots of your hosting computer? Pitboss games eventually crash on any server if they're left up too long, but the group I usually play with worked out that if the host manually saves and reboots the server every few days, it avoids about 95% of downtime.
Just figured it'd be worth checking given that it's only 6 days since the game last went down, and it seems to go down for at least 12-24 hours each time before you get the chance to restart it. No fault of yours, you're obviously busy - but it does mean that if we keep up this pace, we're going to be losing about one day of playing time per week from hereon in.
All this could be avoided if, say, twice a week when you have a spare 5-10 minutes, you take a save of the game, reboot the server, and put the game up again. Seems well worth the effort given that (extrapolating from this limited data) it'll save losing 10-15% of the year to server downtime.
Just an idea, anyway.

Really hope that rebooting suggestion above can help avoid this in future. It'd be a pain to keep losing 24+ hours on the game every week...

You know, if Rego were hosting instead of Sunrise, I get the feeling we wouldn't have any delays at all.

We wouldn't have any delays because nobody would be able to connect to any game because I don't have a machine suitable for hosting
