Printing equalized the +3CS but the Mil alliance remains, for that we need 2 more turns.
So, one scouting move later I see:
The carthaginian flagship.
Options include turning tail, or trying to sandwhich him between the three isles whilst my southern fleet stand ready to engage next turn.
I decide to go for the daring approach because of several reasons:
- I only lack 2 CS thanks to printing this turn.
- His position is very, very bad. Going north involves getting rid of my ironclad which should not be easy, going west is possible but difficult and my southern fleet can then fully engage him.
- Zone of control means his ability to maneuver is severly limited.
- This could panic him.
- Norway is going to get stronger.
- Next turn my both fleets are united.
- Sailing west makes a unification of my fleets very difficult.
My first strike is not that devastating, 3 biremes, 1 caravel. But either he kills 3-4 ships or my ironclad, we will see.
My sincere apologies if my move killed us, Kaiser, it has been an honour.
Overview
Well this is a nailbiter until the next turn comes.
I seldom have been this anxious.
@Kaiser, I will catch that norwegian longship north of your capital, try to keep 1-2 frigates around to defeat stragglers, and I will need 2-3 ships in my south to defend.
The next turn either sees me triumphantly sinking some more ships or my fleet in tatters.
