And for most of the game, I only worked half of them! Not quite enough food to go nuts.

But I shouldn't complain. GG.

Bob was just in a really bad spot, sandwiched in the middle, and choked by everyone. I met oledavy in Bob's and, and the first thing I said was "Hi Dave, let's choke bob's copper" smile

Game #2 was on inland lake, a 5 player FFA between waterbat, sunrise, shoot, myself, and WarlordDR. I didn't grab any early screenshots, but I drew Tokugawa of Egypt and went warrior first to get early pressure on both my neighbors. It worked against sunrise: i won a 50% battle and deleted his first worker.

Then he came back for revenge:

I have no copper, no iron, and horses a light year away. Eventually I broke the choke by sending 6 archers against his 3 chariots and luckily winning the battles I should have won.

Turn 100 and I'm sending my WCs against waterbat. They would raze Sparta but at high cost (i lost 4/5 my army) and so I pulled back to retreat.

But sunrise has not forgotten his worker:

I abandoned my border city and spammed LBs and WCs. Barely held the capital after his main attack, and got a pair of GG archers upgraded to LB to keep it held. Now there were only a few turns left and sunrise decided to retreat his elephants. I didn't want to let them get away, so I sent the WCs after them. Yes, I sent WCs after elephants. Formation elephants. Here was the final tally:

And then WarlordDR won a time victory.

I don't know what happened at the other side of the world, but by the final map he had a lot of land to expand into. And he built almost every wonder:

Maybe if I had let sunrise keep his worker he would have sent that huge stack elsewhere tongue Oh well, it was fun!

Even Later game:

Lewwyn
Noblehelium
Gaspar
Waterbat
Oledavy

We went with an AW Medieval start with lost of people sacrificing their starting archers against explorers.

I don't have any early screens but NH choked Davy, Apparently Waterbat settled up on Gaspar and kept Gaspar to 2 cities for most of the game. Davy took WCs out though and sacked one of NHs cities. I settled towards him and realized 20 turns in that I was Mongolia... Davy sent a stack of WCs at me, got unlucky and lost them all. I went in with my Keshik pillaged the horses and then razed his capital. Waterbat then finished Davy off on a differetn side of the map.

Gaspar wondered it up with colossus+fin and teched early guild and beat me to Lib by 3 turns. With knights he finally took waterbat out. I took this time to expand to 7 cities and took a lead in everything. Gaspar sent his Knight stack at me and then I destroyed it with cats and knights. We called the game as it was apparent I'd gotten to an insurmountable lead.

Screens of the end of my land and demos:

I think I was PHI/Org which led me to expand early because I knew I'd get low maintenance. From there some Keshik work and lots of cottages.

Was a really fun game. Apparently I kicked Davy's sandcastle though. Stupid Sandcastles.

Thanks for the reports guys!

Euro game #2:

My first MP BtS game against someone other than my 7-year old son smile

Again YuriS as the big pain in my ass! He got a warrior in my face early and choked me out perfectly. I lasted a little while, but was way behind when he sent a pack of vultures to finish me. I felt completely noobish, but when I explained the start, the guys said it was typical to lose in that fashion.

I had a scout start as Vikings. Unfortunately had 1 food resource - wheat and it was next to my cap along with a PFH. I didnt realize proximity of capitols and started with worker. When I saw his warrior, I thought it was too late - figured game over, but was able to somehow pop the warrior half a turn before he could take me out. Unfortunately, he just took residence on the PFH. When my worker popped, i moved it to the other side so it was 2t away from his warrior, but he got in a double move when I got a dialog box up asking me what to research. From there on out it was ugly - as he went back to the PFH and i lost a few units dislodging him.

Later game:

Same one as pindicators great report. I was Greece. Roosevelt i think.

I moved to 3-clam location away from a corn in order to settle on a PH. I again nearly lost my cap to a single warrior, but this time, was able to avoid a complete collapse. I was the only one who made a boat, so I had fun sailing that arround the inland sea. I got to witness the elephant invasion. Pindicator reminded me to pillage his own seafood.

In the early game, I loaded up 2 phalanx on my galley and was able to snag a worker from ShootTheMoon. I wanted more, but found one of his cities in ruins?? It turns out Pindicators original warror that was giving me trouble must have found it unguarded. We skirmished a little over this location (it had gold), but he ended up with it. I was able to pull 3 workers into my empire in the late game, but too late to do much good.

Once I got a lucky border pop which alerted me pindicator's 13 WCs. He chose to back off after being discovered, but he could have taken me for all i had. So... I build up some LBs asap. When he came back with 16, somehow I did enough damage to push him back (although losing 1 of my lives in the process). Sunrise's invasion also caused him to pull back.

Here's a pic of my empire after I rebuilt the city P burned:

After that I saw something crazy. Warlord rolled through StM and showed up with 3 units. YEP only 3 units. Wait.... 3 GG Maces with all kinds of stupid upgrades?? they moved switftly - I scattered what seemed like 20 workers in panic and after marching up to my cap, he left me survive the last turn which was the end of the game - Time Victory.

Latest game:

I got Churchill of Spain - so PRO/CHR - I figured I had to build military. We started Medieval - so I wasnt really sure what to tech. I didnt know how to unlock the citadel xp bonus. I was able to box Gaspar in based on the way the land fell.

Very funny early engagement - I thought his explorer had scout-like strength. So i hit it with an archer and died. I moved my other archer away and all my units south, but sent my second starting settler north on his own. Gaspar showed up with an archer that I was sure was going to raise my second city, but somehow I luckily got an explorer back just in time. I ended up founding a third city to seal off Gaspar, but it was in the jungle and took me forever to get healthy - it had dye/cow/rice, but i didnt hook it up until I was way behind.

Early on, I *almost* raized his second city when he went for the colossus and I went for 4 HAs. I had 4HA+archer vs 2 archers, but he came up with another whipped archer at the end which saved it. Then his calvary came out of nowhere and crushed me. Now... I didnt realize this was Numidian calvary - i thought somehow he had teched through to REAL calvary smile

So i teched to feudalism and got a bunch of LBs. In the meantime NobleHelium was urging me to hit davy who seemed in the lead. I sent all I could spare (1 HA+1 HA followup) and called it a horde. I saw an empty city and moved next to it, but Davy *crushed* this not-even-enough-to-call-a-harrassment with WC and HA of his own.

Later I was able to hit this same city as Davy was occupied with his other front - he had lost a city and was trying some type of culture bombing maneuver smile I had 3 HA + 2 cats vs 2 archers and was able to barely take the city - ending his game.

All this time I had vision of gaspar's colony where he was stockpiling knights. I didnt do enough whipping to get enough defenders. When he rolled in with 7-10 of them, it was game over.

Conclusion:
All in all not a bad first day. Thanks guys for the games!

Summary of the second game for me: the only resources at my capital were plains sheep and plains spices. Yeah, it was painful. To top it off, got my second city razed. After refounding, maxed out at three decent city sites and two terrible ones (including my capital in the two). Somehow through sunrise and pindicator bashing each others heads in wound up in second. Decided to throw caution to the wind and attack WarlordDr with phants and cats, lost heavily to collateral and then as revenge had a second city razed. I knew going in my attack was likely to result in failure (Warlord had roughly double my power), but I figured it was worth it to give it a shot as there were less than 10t left in the game.
