Can we confirm the Sequential thing? Sequential seems like it would work great, but someone (Krill?) seemed pretty confident it did not work the way plako says it does.

Also, with everyone having an assigned time frame to play, there's no way for any turn to end early. Plus the inevitable delays for tech issues, real life emergencies, and rules disputes. We're looking at more like one turn every 3 days with these settings. Just a heads up, you can set the Pitboss timer to any hourly interval. I always thought it was odd how we had a 24 hour timer for PB4 which never changed as the game went on. In all other games I've played in, the host adjusts the timer every few weeks or month or so, so that the turns match up with real life time. For instance, we'd often start at 22 hours (for an 18 person game), then gradually shift back to 21 and 20 hours as the game progressed. This ensured turns kept to roughly 24 hour lengths in the real world.
Sunrise could always do the same thing with this game, starting at 44-46 hours (having a few test turns to figure out what works out to a real ~48)... then gradually moving back as the game goes on, probably ending up around 40 hours. Why don't you guys do that?

Put up a test Pitboss with random settings (unimportant) except sequential and teams of 3. Then I or someone else can log in to check it.

Someone move this thread to the Pitboss 6 forum now, maybe?

This is very easy to test without server in the net. Just start a LAN pitboss game on your local machine and log in to it and use "localhost" as Direct IP address.

So how do you want to proceed? Has everyone settled to these settings:
* Difficulty - Monarch
* Diplo victory - off
* Pitboss format - Sequential 10-12h timer
* Speed - Quick
or should we still discuss about these? Map is about ready. I'll do some final tweaks, but in practice I'm ready when you're. Sevenspirits also suggested that I'll show your teams starting areas and you can decide, which nation goes where. I like this idea, so after you've all picked there is 1 additional desicion for you to make.

Plako, I know two of the teams (mine and Spulla) have voted for Noble. I understand the reasoning behind higher difficutly, but personally don't agree. I think for the sake of compromise Prince sounds reasonable, but I don't think there is consensus on Monarch.

I would be fine with Monarch, but would prefer Noble/Prince - whatever the best compromise is. The other settings are fine as they are.

I agree cometely. I think a compromise of prince seems a much better fit considering two teams voted for noble (and I believe the other two voted for monarch, correct?). I have not been very vocal in this thread about wanting noble because of some of the hostile nature of the discussion, but that shouldn't mean my vote counts for less than those who were more vocal.
