Civilopedia says yes. Keep up the great reporting, those wonderful crop/mfg numbers have to turn into gnp someday! :neenernee

Yup, you'll need HBR for War Elephants.

Thanks (both of you) - stupid of me. I think I may pause Construction for first.

Report coming up hopefully before I get to bed.

T55 no longer remembers what GNP even stands for

So let's rectify that:

Lighthouse was actually due to finish this turn anyways but I went ahead and 1-pop whipped so I could get 13h of overflow into TGL rather than 1 or 2. Every bit counts I guess. And then:

I used one of the workers on the "1t mine" sign to go reduce the 2t chop to 1t. The workers who were sitting on tiles ready to chop just sunk a turn into roads so that they weren't idle. So 4 chops complete next turn - good for 80h (post-Maths). Combine that with overflow and base hammers and I'll sink 100 hammers into TGL next turn (out of 134). So I'll just have to get 34h as quick as possible. I have the copper mine which is good for 6h. The plains hill will be a mine (not just a straigth chop) so that'll be good for 4h so I'll make around 11 base hammers. Little micro and I can get it in 4T. If I miss out on this then I'm probably in trouble. Oh well, gotta go for it. In random city management:

It's just nice being able to crank workers this quickly. I'm actually thinking I need to farm over that cottage and farm/mine everything here and make this a ridiculous production city.

I whipped the WB here at size2. This will go to King Park. Next will be either granary or Monument.

Again - overflow is fun - a 2T worker in a size3 city. This city is actually much nicer than I first expected. with stone and a lighthouse lake coming online.

Whipped the monument here. This is so I can get the deer online ASAP across the lake. I'd like to put Moai either here or at the other island site. Not sure which. Other may be better because that one is devoid of food sources in general (so giving it Moai would make it non-sucky) and this has two. Though it'd be quicker to get it here with whip overflow (I have stone yay). Any suggestions? The other site:

That's my south. Continuing with the overview, the core:

Then my favorite - the northeast:

More spying on Brian:

Still just one galley. Commodore:

At first I was afraid of dying from his roads then I realized... he hasn't hooked horses lol. So he can't move more than 2 tiles (on roads) at once. So I'm fine (that FP is empty). Anyways, looks like he prioritized south? Not the greatest news as that's towards me. Anyways that's it for this turn - light on commentary as it's getting late here. Demos:

I need to get markets and libraries everywhere pronto. The food/mfg thing only lasts me so long but I need some sort of economy-type-thing at some point. I'm not totally crashed yet, but still.

T56 turns trees into 4/5ths of a giant lighthouse

Observe:

(That's 4 chops). Alright I get it - my tiles worked looks bizarre here. So I tried a few variations that all had me finishing TGL at EOT60. HOWEVA, I realized if I worked food and grew to size 4 in 1T, I could do:

Quote:t57: 95/134 +11
t58: 106/134 +14
t59: 120/134 +14 finish eot

The +14 is possible by micro'ing to work max hammers, so I can finish at EOT59. If someone snipes it by then, I'll have lost 4 forests for just 80g so that'll hurt badly. Not much I can do about it though - couldn't afford to just have those workers sit. Such is life. Another market coming up:

These need to go everywhere. Though this one is less important. I'll probably just work this up to size 6 and then go settler on all improved tiles. Still following Commodore:

Hopefully he'll figure out that I'm letting him live and recognize that I'd like peace. Though he may just interpret that as me declining 70% odds. Found a Serdoa border:

Guess he got elephants now too. Hm. Too bad.

Notice the renamed scout wink.

He doesn't have to know I just have a settler on board. I can still freak out his workers. It's fun. COWER IN FEAR INCAN DOGS.

Yay for power-chopping workers. It's just so fun. Less fun:

Finally got himself a second galley. So I withdrew. Thankfully No Light nearly has a Galley too, so I'll just stack them both in my cove and he'll need Triremes to get by. Not that I have any seafood to need saving though. Demooos:

Sorry, it's late so I'm purposely being less long-winded. Don't complain or I'll call you nasty names and name units after you and suicide you into Lewwyn who will then rage like Lewwyn rages and it'll be ALL YOUR FAULT.

Oh yes, so I got Commodore's graphs so I owe you all something. Charts? Charts.

Of course I put my favorite one first. You can guess what's coming last.

Commodore not nearly as competitive here. Guess he's in a growth phase now.

Brian you continue to freak all of us out. Please send those at Serdoa plzthx. Same goes for you Commodore once you hook the death horses.

I suck at Civilization IV.

I have a good feeling about the Great Lighthouse. but...

PB5 spoiler:

I also was getting a good feeling about Brick!

I feel good about where you're at. Just hold on and keep commodore looking elsewhere and we can swing to an advantage. Just need to decide when to start building elephants.

Me too. I feel like my economy is not quite as comically bad as it looks - especially if I land TGL. I'll build 1-2 WEs as soon as I can - gotta finish HBR and Construction first though which'll take a few turns.

Can you guys think of a way to lose 32 points in one turn that doesn't involve losing a city? Because Commodore just did.

T57 goes badly for Commodore?

Yep there's a question mark for a reason. I'm not 100% sure what happened, but I realized once my turn ended that Commodore lost 32 points this turn. That was interesting to me because I have a shot at razing one of his cities next turn. Fingers crossed. Anyways, before I get ahead of myself, I was scouting up near his north

So my scout needs to move on. So I moved NW:

Now ok, at this point I had yet to notice the fact that his score had dipped -32 points. I just took this picture because I thought it was weird that he hadn't settled that blindingly obvious pigs/gold site. That grass hill would be first ring and it had no culture on it when I passed by. Seems bizarre for a FIN civ on a tech rush would skip that right? So I made note of that but hadn't yet connected the dots. In more Commodore news:

Major possible pants-down moment there. Now - it's on a hill so if he has an archer nearby that city is safe, but fingers crossed on this one smile. It's too bad I couldn't nab that worker but I couldn't see it until I moved onto the jungle (I came from the grass 33 away from the jungle). I figured with Commodore's LOL power graph (good bit lower than me despite having MC + Machinery) I might be able to sneak up on him here and it looks like I might have done just that. Again, at this point it hadn't occurred to me that he probably lost a city. So this is double-bad for Commodore. He better have a unit by this city or else he's really in trouble. Anyways, TGL:

Going as planned. Just gotta hope it doesn't fall in the next 48 hours. I can't whip it next turn so there's no way to speed it up. Let's hope! Island city will be settled next turn. Also in Commodore-related news:

Actually couldn't kill him this turn. If I raze his city I can probably kiss the whole "lets be pals" thing goodbye (though I didn't realize how close our ciites were so that prob wasn't going to be a thing), so I may just kill him when I get the chance. We'll see. Commodore really settled south towards me which is very different from what I've done. Got a fun 1T work boat:

That'll give me 2 fish. Granary is next on the agenda here so I can whip it hard for a little while before going vertical on all these beautiful tiles. This is going to be a disgusting little city. Just silly. I'll want a Monument + Lighthouse here, though I may just build a Library and let that be my culture as I'd like to be able to run scientists here if I want. Don't have to decide quite yet. Lewwyn took over first in score for the first time on the back of this GNP:

I'm truly impressed he can do that without Pyramids. I'm really not sure how he's doing that.
