Edit: This is one of the hardest campaigns. If you feel up to it. There's quite abit of puzzle solving and ridiculousness involved.

It is usualy better to finish early and claim an early finish bonus which most of the time if bigger then the gold that you get from owning all the villages.

Yes this is a hard campaign they call it expert level for a reason.

There are two types of resources in Wesnoth, gold and experience. Early on I prefer building a core of veteran troops, delaying victory for a few turns as appropriate. Gold smooths the difficulty of a particular level, but due to a %loss every level it is a short term advantage whereas more experience is a long term advantage. I rate intelligent units the most in the early game for this reason.

I've done campaigns at high difficulties, though I would often restart at the beginning at the specific level due to losses or pyrrhic victories. So I'm open for an easier difficulty.

Bruindane, by easier difficulty do you mean campaign or difficulty inside the same campagin I can't read minds.

Since Northern Rebirth is the chosen campaign I was referring to the difficulty option chosen after selecting the campaign. I'm quite willing to do the nightmare difficulties on the hardest campaigns, but chances are we will lose along the way.

Losing is always an option :neenernee.

Sure going with the easier dificulty sounds like a plan I will start off our first set of three turns in acouple of hours (dinner > wesnoth). Feal free to post your arguements of peasents now, otherwise I am going woodsman spam.

Difficuly peasent (normal)? only one beneath the one I asked about.

Somthing I just thought of that we might do later in the save create a naming theme for all our thousands of units. (or maybe just the ones we care about)

Peasants are better defensive cannon fodder against Orcish counter-attacks as the Orcs are mostly melee. The fact they are lawful has tactical advantages as well, so I give them a thumbs up.

Perhaps name them after characters from a Game of Thrones? wink

Turn 1:

recruit 9 units

7 peasents
2 woodsman

Turn 2:

recruited 7 units

4 peasents
3 woodsman

Seperate our units into three squads.
  • Alpha - main force consisting of most of our units is going to do most of the fighting
  • Beta - smaller squad (3 peasents, 1 woodsman) set to go down left side of screen to capture villages might be harrased
  • Charlie - 1 peasent is going to the upper right side and down from their to capture villages no harrasment unless we already lost

1 wolf went to bot left meaning beta will have to fight. Should not need renforcements yet.


Turn 3.5 (intern)

I must have moved zlex our loyal dude too far forward because 3 wolves charged out to attack him. banghead

Then the other sides comes out and attack out attackers. lol

Final Impresions:

We want to capture the four wolves at the keep leaving the other wolf near by to rejoin the orc fight.
Alpha squad should capture and hang around the keep till we decide where to send them next.
We will most likly have to fight seriosly against the blue orc dude, because he is taging villages and half his force was archers till they got eaten alive.

Somthing we need to talk about. Their is a mine feature in the top right side of the map. It is not a village but, I am not sure if that is a special event or somthing we should try to triger.
The fact that it is the only mine on a mountian map make me wonder if it means somthing.

I am marking stup with labels on the map that does not apear in screenshots. Owell. however I proposed a best set of moves for charlie and the range left(west?) from the keep the beta needs to avoid.

Never heard of it and google says only 39 people.
with 17 already we need a bigger theme base. Unless google and wiki lied to me.

For our loyal units I propose our names.
For our numberless horde I propose somthing else.

You should open it. This campaign is full of surprises. ^_^
