Yep I only saw the second picture in test 3 and I don't think that any websites are block for me.

Edit: this should be Turn 0
Ravus Sol Wrote: Iliossiel had taken them through a portal, to a new world called 'Erebus' The 2 noobs took in the lay of the land, and the bunch of scraggly people standing before them. a bunch of tough looking fellows were camping nearby, watching over the villagers. The Settlers, having explained the current state of affairs to the Noobs, waited for instructions. Mackoti suddenly sprang into action, pointing out a good spot for the city, then turned to Iliossiel asking his opinion. Iliossiel: hmm, that city will be hard to defend, rivers and mountains prevent us from counter-attacking any would-be siegers. That said, i agree with your assessment. What say you Acalostas? Acalostas: huh, sorry? oh right, i agree with Mackoti. Say, what is that large Monolithic structure over there, is that a giant standing stone? that would make our people happy when they look at it! ![]() Iliosiel: No, i'm pretty sure that's seven giant pine trees. I had this big meeting there ages back, so i should recognise it. Acalostas: oh... ok... ![]() Acalostas, feeling useless, proceeded to issue orders to the town folk, sending them across the river into the nearby jungle. The warriors followed them, to make sure they stayed safe. Acalostas told them that they would be setting up the city in the jungle to take advantage of the bananas that grew there. He also sent a runner to contact the scouts patrolling the valley, telling them to get up on a hill, and report back what they could see from that elevation. "Hey Benedict!" the veteran scout turned at the sound of his name. "we've got orders to climb a hill, and report back what we can see." "Who gave these orders? are they addled!" Benedict roared, "we just found these pigs, and now they want us to scare them off!?" none-the-less Benedict followed orders. The pigs had turned out to be surprisingly docile, completely ignoring the intruders in their habitat. Benedict looked at the lay of the land, and snorted in disgust. nothing but trees and mountains, though he could make out the sea in the distance. "time to report back" Benedict shook his head. he hoped their new leaders knew what they were doing... ![]() The "Grigori" people, as Iliossiel called them, were pacifistic. Acalostas knew this would not do. In this world there would be many dangers and the Grigori would need soldiers willing to fight against these dangers. Iliosiel quietly agreed. Acalostas instilled in the Grigori a sense of pride in themselves, and their soon-to-be nation ![]() Acalostas was pleased. It was a good beginning. but it would only get harder from here. He walked among the people, seeing what they knew. He saw that many among the Grigori crafted small tokens for their children, and thought of other possible uses for these skills. ![]() Acalostas wondered what the future held for these people. He hoped he wouldn't fail them. OOC: hope nobody minded that it was all in character. not much happened to report, so i thought i would amuse myself. if you prefer me to write all updates out of character from now on, just tell me. Note to self; rename scout to "Benedict" And tell me if these images don't work. I may know why.
Nice!
Mining does seem the way to go, because there aren't enough river grasslands to warrant an early Agrarianism. Ilios Wrote:Nice! I presume that the pictures work, otherwise you would of mentioned it? what did you think of the roleplay? drop it? thin it out? continue? Anything important that you want to see in the next update? I'm not just adressing that to Ilios, any lurkers (and teammates) feel free to comment.
Yes, and we have riverside hils wich is nice for comerce in the begining.
Nice story Aco keep them coming. Acalostas Wrote: it seems that Gaspar didn't settle in place, while Rawkking did. I hope that the reason is that Gaspar has horrible land, and not that he's found better land a few tiles away ![]() If you're reading this Gaspar, sorry, but you'd be least affected by bad land because of you're forests. i think. mackoti Wrote:what you think is safe worker first? I see two problems with Worker first: - The best Production we can get is 4 hammers/turn (city tile + grass forest hill + palace hammer). So that's at least four turns to build a warrior in case of an emergency. - It will take us 9 turns to build a Worker. It will take us 8 turns to research Agriculture. The Worker will only be able to improve the Corn tile and the farm on the grassland river to its south (provided no forest/jungle growth). All other tiles seem to be either hills or forested/jungled. So that's only 8 worker turns. Unless we get very lucky with hut pops, our Worker won't have anything to do for at least 4-6 turns. (until Mining comes in)
I liked the story (and I often just skip over that kind of thing).
It wasn't too much, and the pictures mixed in it were great.I think I'll be following your thread. And while I don't know FFH much, I totally agree with founding on the banana, if only for the principle of founding for extra early yields on tiles that won't otherwise be good for a long time. It's just fun. |
