I'll return to normal tomorrow.
There's an equal chance for "low gold", "high gold", skeleton spawn, spectre spawn and tech. So 20% for each. Roll is on a five-sided dice. Gold goes on '1' and '2', tech is on '5'.

In other words do not pop the grave yet. Thanks for the info Mist. Now I must go and drink some 32%ABV beer.

Ok I've the turn played (all of about 10 seconds). I moved the warrior. I can pop later when I've a defence in my city.

The land is looking like this:

Found another decent recourse site to my east again, but it is full of plains so I'll have to look carefully wrt to food. Saw nothing new on the north, I'll bring my warrior around and down to the south now.

At end of turn my borders popped, showing:

I think my second warrior will take c.10 turns to give a short round up of my west, when he comes.

Ok demographics diving:

Ok somebody has built a warrior, so whomever is getting in the extra hammers, which I'm still guessing is a player plopped beside the Remains of Patria (a minor early imbalance in the map IMO).

Wow! That 6 hammers are indeed scary for such early in the game. Can you see the terrain under the remnants in the map? I'd guess the map maker put all the good unique features in desert tiles to avoid imbalance and that'll mean that it's not someone working the remanants... Maybe an event that gave 1 pop could fit...

No pop changes in the demographics, so it's not that. And it's not someone popping the hammer world spell, as we don't have the right race here. The remains are here, a bit farther away from where I first said, I actually misidentified the Standing Stones as the remains.

It's been six since the second turn (turn 1a), so my conlcusion is either he's on a PH start with another 3 hammer tile (giving little to no early growth, bad move I think) or he's actually got the remains in the BFC and lots of mountains too.

We may see next turn with the soldier popping out. If rival best changes then it was a ploy to get quick defence.

If you look at the below map, in the mini-map the at the South West edge of the box is the Maelstrom, and Yggadrasil is somewhat slightly West of South of that. This leads me to believe the world-tree is on an island. If there is world wrap (no mention in settings) then it may be worth my while going naval at some stage.

Looking again at the pile of new land I've revealed (West of the Dragon Bones) I believe the best site is on the PH 1W of the Incense. It'll give all four resources, at least 1 farm and only 3 mountains. It'll never be a huge city unless I get Nature 3 going, but with the proper management it'll be a strongish medium pop city, with access to a wonder resource, food, and 2 happy.

Desert Remnants are only worth 0/3/0 -> same as a plains hill forest. So the mistery continues...

A plains hill start + working a 0/3/x tile = 5 hammers. Best production is 6, so it's very strange... Coupled with the fact that rival worst food is 3 (so nobody is working a 0/x/x tile) and we something to think about.

How about an expansive civ building a worker? No, it doesn't work, since a warrior was built and it'd someone working 5 hammers (+25% = 6) and that's not happening with normal tiles (since we don't have someone with 2 food)... Maybe a plains hill/marble city center + a 1/2/x tile while building a expansive worker...

Yeah, I am terrible at C&D... You got yourself a bad lurker, Brian... Live with it...

We need Sareln to give us a hand!

As regards hammer 6 you're forgetting the palace bonus. I think I solved my conumndrum, either someone is working desert remnants or (a lot more likely) working a forested plains hill.

Yeah, I forgot! Damn! But it's not a plains hill forest, since the opponent worst food is 3, so no one is working a 0 food tile...

Yeah it's a weird one.

The mirror of heaven gives +3 hammers as well. What kind of tile is it on?
