Hmm, i dunno.
They're indeed yellow, but they also got this sickish brown look to them.
It's like traitorous yellow. Sure they'll comply and work with you at face, but the moment you turn around, it'll backstab you!
I'll be keeping my eyes on it.
Xenoborg Wrote:I don't know about a hotkey, but there should be a check box for detailed city Info under the Graphics menu under Options.
Muuuuuuuuch better!
Well i knew it was also a hotkey of some combination.
Secondly i just looked at the game options for it, didn't really think about the graphics one.
But thanks mister!
Not much to see yet, but i hope i'll gain several contact soonish.
...yeah, um.
Speaking of diplomacy, those first 50 turns is gonna be awkward as Tasunke, building up for an assault while fake being nice with the others and try getting away with it.
It's like having friendly banter with visiting diplomats while BLATANTLY sitting on throne decorated with the freshly carved skulls of those that stood in the way. You may sound nice, but few are gonna be fooled when looking at the whole picture.
Sure there is a few that manages to get away with it, but i haven't invested enough time in bullshit to do so myself.

No one gained a pop this turn, so the 2 players that works 3 food is also doing worker first.
And nothing else to see.
Ugh.
Come on game, give me some squishes to squish! I'm booored here!
Bah, maybe i should work on the 10 commandments in the meantime.

D'oh! The 3 food pop situation was supposed to happen at turn 4, not turn 5.
So that means the ones working 2 food would pop this turn, however only Mist did that.
Which pretty much means that all except Mist are doing worker first.
Also i got a few teories on how the land looks like.
Assuming that each civ is located close by one of the unique islands (which i find highly likely), the continent would look kinda hexagonical like this:
Check minimap
However, that leads to a problem. The lower civ is in no range of the uniques at all. Unless we're playing...oh hell no, are we acutally playing on toroidal wrap?!
Ugh, maintanence is gonna be a KILLER! Immortal difficutly (which i picked for the barbs) isn't gonna help either.
Well at least there is City States that can help with it.
Scout discovered some coast tiles this turn and possible fertile land on the other side. I'm thinking where the white crosses are there's some pretty juicy land to settle. Or the overall middle area at least.
And those could be big hotspots since the overall quality of the land is pretty dry. There's 3 things that points to that.
First of all, map info so far is pointing towards the majority of tiles being plains or at least my part of the land is.
Secondly there's a desert river tile just south of MegaYellow, which naturally would have been a flood plain otherwise. Tells me that there's none of it or at least few of them in the possible hotspots.
And finally, bobs tiny spoiler in the FFH PBEM IX thread which possibly confirms that the average land yield is more dry than normal and that everyone has loads of plains in their starting area (thank yellow for that! )
Counter shows 2406 land tiles, bit over half of the total. Believe it's just the continent and the 3 unique islands then. Could possibly be some extra islands filling somewhere along the middle of those islands.
Anyway, i'll be turning around now and find the possible player located to my east, by approaching him/her from south and possibly confuse him/her on where i'm located.

You can check worldwrap. See if you can scroll off the top and sides of the map. Should be able to do it even if you haven't explored yet.

Just scrolled to the top and sides, we're playing on a flat map.
Well that bins my theory about a hexagonical land layout. Still i do believe there's hotspots to get somewhere.
Anyway i'm no longer so sure there's an opponent directly east to me, in fact i'm more certain there's someone close to that 2nd unique, so west we go.
As you probably saw earlier, i got my 2nd city placement ready, but i'm still looking for where to put the 3rd. I won't have mining ready when the 3rd is up so the gold is ignored for now.
Pretty keen to explore the southern river to check for potential sites, though it's gonna be tough considering animals are spawning now.
Especially when that certain animal is a Griffon.
Oh and Mist discovered a tech this turn.

Began to wonder how long it would take till the scout died. It didn't take long.
Well bah, giants tend though to not always attack though so there could still be hope.
Unfortunately he did approach him and then proceeded to pound him into the dirt.
Worker finished and will farm the heck out of the wheat next turn. Ancient Chants researched as well.

Hi icewolf, nice of you to pop in.
Anyway there's hardly anything going on, basically sending the save around.
Ancient Chants is researched, but it's gonna take forever to get Education in.
Current situation:
2nd warrior out and farm is 1 turn away from completion.
What's been interresting to follow is the power demos. Almost all players have lost their initial scout, including Sareln i believe who had no power to speak of for some turns and then rose to 2000, another scout. Risky play there, but i guess you don't give that much of a damn anymore when you've been on the recieving end of fire and ice.
Cureent high power is Mist with 9000, 3 warriors. Been stuck with that and 2 pop capital for some time, so he must be getting his first worker out.

Farm completed, which shot my food up to 7 (and the first to do so ). Strangely my GNP is rated at 14, but I canât find where the other 2 come from. Thereâs 10 from the palace and 2 from tiles, but no clue on the final 2.
Anyway, nothing really going on, passing the turn as usual. We really need to get a blitz up.
So while we wait till the situation gets a bit more yellow, his yellowness has decided to introduceâ¦
The Great Hippus HORSE Quiz
Whatâs The Great Hippus HORSE quiz you say? Itâs about achieving the honor of being called HORSE, the greatest title a hippus can achieve, which you damn well better feel proud of should you ever get it!
And for you lowly simpletons out there that canât see the value of that, donât worry, there will be prizes too!
The rules are simple! His yellowness, that is I, will ask a question and provide 4 different alternatives to choose from. Answer correct and youâll gain a letter. Collect all 5 letters and achieve HORSE, YOU WIN!!!...something.
Got all that? Great! Then lets get to the first question of..
The Great Hippus HORSE Quiz
As youâve seen from the current situation itâs been pretty lonely so far. Understandably this canât continue on concerning our great task and different measures must be taken if weâre gonna get out of this.
For that reason, an order has been issued to train a scout this turn and potentially find someone out there to exact our enlightenment on, so we may eventually gain a feeling of superiority and progress towards our ultimate goal.
And so I ask, in what direction will the scout be sent towards?
Will it be the lush east (A), the brutal south (B), the daring south-east © or the arid west (D)?
This will be answered once the scout is completed. Now while I do have my eyes on some certain directions, it can quickly change in those 4 turns it takes!

Man, what a cynical gambit to gain lurker posts!
