Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

I wasn't very restrained in that sense either at the start of pbem3 :P

Sareln must be the most unlucky player on this site rolleye

We could be getting two eliminations within the first 20 turns. This map will go from quite cramped to rather spacious.

And then of course, with an early elim, Charadon would be free to harass another player.

Well, this time he's getting killed because he popped a lair with no garrison at home, so at least he's contributing to his own downfall a bit rather than just dying for playing a lategamish civ near the map's most dangerous rusher.

I could see Ellimist killing bob and Ichabod killing Sareln, then Ellimist finds Ichabod and kills him as well (though it will be considerably harder than vs Bob)

Then it will be Mist vs Ellimist and the only chance for Ellimist to win then is he rushes again

Well I think Sareln is pretty much dead. This map is way too cramped to go worker first and not send your warrior home, but they all knew that by T3 or so, so yeah, while I feel bad for him, its his own fault this time.

Haven't gotten a lot of visuals from the Lanun-Doviello front, but I think Bob has a decent chance of surviving.

Unfortunate that this game was basically Bob and Sareln's idea and they could both be dead before we hit T10.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

By the by, Mardoc, do you think with 2 elims probably coming up you slanted the map too much towards the rushers or do you think that it was pretty easy for everyone to realize that A) The map needed to be small to give the rushers a chance and B) even if they didn't see A, the map being small was apparent early enough for everyone to prioritize warrior builds early?

I lean towards the fact that this is the fault of the players, but I also know if I made this map I'd be feeling pretty crummy about the pending exits of 2 players.

It's Sareln's own fault this time, there is no good reason to have an empty capital on turn 10 in a game with Doviello in it, and they weren't even the ones who attacked him.

Heh, in PBEM 2, people were laughing at me because I kept my starting warrior inside the capital. smile

Most of the players suggested tweaking Charadon's start to make it playable, and Mist actually suggested playing normal speed to let rushes work better; given that set of instructions, I don't think anyone should be too surprised that the world wound up a fairly rushable size.
