Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

Who could have seen this coming?!: Bobchillingworth is definitely, totally Hyborem

Are you planning on building a galley to ship the savant over to your capital, or are you counting on a passive spread?

No workers at all?

No workers. No time! And no worker techs.

No galleys either. Sailing too expensive. Not Hyborem Rush if spending turns researching extraneous techs. Techs Infernals can't use extra-bad.

Doesn't matter anyway. Pact finishes in ten turns. Capital unhappiness immaterial.

oh god new avatar what have I done

[Switching to an Alan Wake theme once I finally get Hyborem! Bought it for PC on sale at Steam a few days ago, have fallen hopelessly in love. Will probably revert to Classic Bob once I realize that nobody appreciates the Taken :'( ]

Aw this sucks, looks like Selrahc is about to be eliminated frown

Kurios used Seven Pines, then declared on him, and his power has dropped by about half. Still OCC.

Assuming I don'y lose Maim Mast next turn (and it's a very real possibility I will if HK declares, since my anti-centaur defenses are lacking), I'll bulb most of Infernal Pact and should finish it either T57 or 58. Not that it'll matter if the Prophecy city is just some dumb Kurios settlement. My Hyborem rush plan has always been a bit of silliness, so Selrahc's collapse doesn't really matter in the sense that I wasn't going to win anyway, but I did wish that we'd see a game where the AC really mattered.

Pact finishes turn 55, new world record smile Oh course, I may have been helped slightly by the Advanced Start option shhh

Well, this might be short:

I am doomed!

My little attack band. I've been using one of the starting settlers to scout ahead, thanks to his super-vision. Not like there's anywhere on this chokepointless map where I could settle a second city and keep it. HK & His Innumerable Lurkers have like 11 visible Centaurs in the area. I estimate that I can kill maybe five before my units start dying. So, doomed. He could alternatively just attack my capital, where the two LB probably can't even take on that many.

Too bad I didn't start next to one of the other civs, I guess. Well, Elohim would have been even worse. I would have liked to at least done a little damage before getting wiped out frown

And man, this is a good map for the Kurios. They get four actual cities in this world where every other tile is either a resource or unique feature? I guess I can't really complain though, this was also about the ideal map for rushing to Hyborem. Advanced start probably saved my rush about 15 turns, but I'm thinking I might have been better off taking that much longer but the Kurios having had a non-explosive start.

Huh, well I lost the group as expected, but actually made off pretty well in the hammer exchange, killing six centaurs and a warrior. Apparently HK forgot about the flanking promotion (or else got really terribly unlucky).

Losing my second starting settler sucks, but again there was really no place safe I could have founded another town anyway. I'm going to place OCC for a little while, see if I can finish Rosier before Thoth builds him, pray I pop a Great Engineer to rush the Grimoire, and build up a force of Corpses and some Imps. Then I'll consider expanding, if I'm still around.

Well, this was a bad turn!

Here we can see a potpourri of shit.

First, and foremost alarmingly, apparently demons have children, and their offspring can sicken and die. Who knew! Why is this event available for the Infernals crybanghead

Second & Third, I'm getting blighted while I guess nobody else is, since HK is whupping Selrahc. The blight doesn't really matter, just a small amount of damage to Rosie which he'll heal off IBT, but as XVIII made clear, the Blight mechanics work much differently for PBEM than SP games. Since the Blight has indeed triggered for one player (me), I wonder if any of the others will ever be affected, if the AC somehow manages to rise above 30 again.

This game is really a hopeless mess for me. My game plan relied on A: having a decent Hyborem spawn, and B: the AC actually doing some damage. Obviously neither has happened. I get a great person next turn, Engie might actually get me back in the game, since I'll be able to rush the Grimoire and get out some Beasts. Scientist, eh, settle I guess. Either way, I'm just going to concentrate on bugging HK until he eliminates me or I can somehow destroy him. Nothing against him personally, but he's the closest to me, the most dangerous opponent, and he has the largest cities. Plus he's really not playing along with the Last Days concept- isn't he aware that this was supposed to be a special sandbox for Selrahc & I? :neenernee

Oh look, the game is being nice to me rolleye:

Took the Monument. Means I can flip that barb city more quickly. Plus could get the Monument bonus event.

The game still doesn't actually like me all that much though, so I am burdened with a Great Sage:

Let's make some lemonade.

Thoth only had the veil in two cities, and both have shit production. But I could lose the Grimoire if he has really been going Great Guns for it since he took over. We'll see.
