My bad. Read it too fast and thought it was 3W1S from BM. Yeah we should accept this.

I'm fine with open borders, with a no scouting clause. Better that they trade with us than with the GLH team. Although, we are last in turn order, and apparently that is bad, in this context (and almost every other context).
And wow, their border will be a nightmare to defend (for them). That should bode well for future negotiations, too, or if they outtech us and we need to take action. I think we could tell them that the ivory city is bumped a ways down our priority list now that we've got a diplomatic agreement. Nevertheless, we will try to give them ample warning. Maybe this: Quote:Our team agrees to open borders for trade routes. (I.e., no right of passage.) A connection by road seems like the best solution; for example, if you make a road on your side of the border that connects to the deer tile, we can hook up there.
If you know what I mean.
Not sure I'm keen on hinting that we could be talked out of the Ivory site ... just tell them it's not the next city now we've an agreement & we'll give them warning?
I'm fine with OB without RoP.
...wounding her only makes her more dangerous!

I didn't try to hint about that. Don't really want to commit to "not our next city" in case someone snipes the pyramids.

This sentence: "There is another ivory in reach, and we might decide to go there instead (even if the terrain is worse), depending on negotiations with TEAM." reads to me like they could persuade us to just settle the other Ivory. Maybe just remove that sentence?

Let's just agree to let them know when we know when we'll settle the ivory city, and say it won't be for the next ten turns, and probably a lot later now that we've got a deal.
Let's not mention BM culture just yet, don't want to give them buyer's remorse or make them think we fooled them. Bring it up in a few turns and offer to trade the ivory spot for us settling on the marble. We really got a great deal here. :D
I have to run.
