Guess plako finally wants to come for me. I was expecting that for some time now but building military instead of trying to actually get into the game would just have taken any chance to win. Not that I think I really ever had a chance to begin with. But still, I had to try. Unfortunate for me that plako took over from Kyan, he always fights with me one way or the other. Oh well, if I can hold him back a little bit, we might all actually concede to Dave at least.

If anyone is still reading, would it be possible to ask the others neutrally (means without stating "Serdoa wants to") if they want to concede to Dave? He has like 4x the power of everyone else and imo the Dwarves are the only ones that could theoretically compete with him. Practically though he should be able to kick their butt with just vampires.
I'm fine to play on if everyone else wants, but if the majority is just waiting for the inevitable I'm sure we all could use our time better.

Ok, so I face a dilemma that imo one should never face in BTS-Civ. I was invaded by plako as expected with Firebows. He took 2 cities, because I simply have nothing to defend against the collateral with Fireballs + str 6 firebows. And it is not like I can build anything either. I need 2-3 more turns before I can whip Paramanders, which could defend but are too expensive anyhow.
So in gist: I'm fucked. I looked at the game in the morning and thought about defending but it is completely pointless. So what should I do? I feel bad just putting all my units in my cities, whipping them and deleting my workers, but I really see no point in moving units needlessly around or too improve tiles which I won't work ever. FFH2 unfortunately does get one easily into a situation in which you can't do anything at all. And that's even though I'm in theory at near tech-parity and have more food (I'm actually second for some time). I could spam warriors, but whats the point? str 4 units will just be obliterated at no cost for him due to the fireballs. I probably can get Paramanders in a 2-3 turns, but those are too expensive to get them built in high enough numbers. I do have a few catapults but they are too slow because he can haste his units.
Honestly, thats the first time I'm in a situation in which I feel it would be ok too just gift away all your cities because it won't make any difference at all if I defend or not, except for that he will get some more experience. Fun times.

FFH definitely favors the offense, yeah. Faster units that can fight without taking damage, and no real way to make a defense in a hurry.
On the bright side - with or without concession, your part in the game is likely over soon .

I'm confused - why ask for concession, then?

Because it's pointless. Doesn't mean I'm reliefed to end it on that note. I'd rather go away from a game saying it was fun and I'm sorry that it has to end and not that at least it's over now

Sorry to hear you're not having fun. Personally, I love the see-how-long-I-can-last-against-the-inevitable-pending-doom game. But that's me.
Maybe a little Winston Churchill might soothe you...?
"We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender..."
Chin up, and all that sort of rot!
Cheers!
