Yeah, that's a good point. I think dreylin being on a lake instead of a sea like the other civs is the culprit of the irrigation -- but the corn is pretty big (and something I missed when looking over the map earlier!)

Good catch, thank you, I moved some stuff near his start that I didn't notice the effects of late at night. Note to pind and fenn: this isnt fixed in the version I just sent, but is on my local copy.

map notes:
- the map is essentially a stencil placed over the PB24 map, with starts replaced by hand-crafted, mirrored capitals. some minor editing was done on top of that, due to some land getting cut apart by the stencil and the capitals. the capitals are my favorite part - they make me feel like you're settling in the ruins of Jurassic Park, or something like that!
- there are a lot of monsters on the map! about one for every 30 workable tiles or so. they're all kinda mixed up, rather than being zoned by originating culture, because i didn't want it to seem like there was a bias in which monster was "supposed to" be for what player, or whatever. there's only so many pig/cow/horse/beaver/elephant/sheep/fish/whale based monsters in history, so, uh, I had to get a bit creative with them. sometimes that meant putting resources on non-natural tiles; for example, sheep on mountains for odin's goats, a horse in water for a hippocampus), the hydra is in a jungled lake (a swamp), etc. these tiles can't be improved, so its just for flavor.
- there's 166 land tiles per player, but the map is also very watery. players will have somewhere between 1 coast for every 2 land and 2 coast for every 3 land, once their empires are fairly developed. boats will be important!
- like pb27, the land is not perfectly balanced. i tried compensating players with more neighbors and/or less total land with richer land (on average) to compensate. however, it's still pretty close overall.
- the map wraps toroidally, but there's an extremely prominent map-wide reference that will hopefully make things easier to follow later.
- thanks a ton to Fenn and Pindicator, who were huge help!

Here, I'll just PM it to you. You can PM it to others, if you want, but I think I won't post the full map here, so it's more fun for lurkers to explore with the players, a la PB27.

Seeing Dreylin's start, it occurs to me he has an extra grassland instead of a coast in his BFC. Can't imagine that'll be more than a marginal advantage over the others; Lighthouse Coast is better in the short term, and there's no reason to consider working it until Size 5 at least.
