The only problem with Peter is a minor anti-synergy. Expansive wants low slider because it gives bonuses to gold multipliers. Philosophical, on the other hand, makes Universities and Oxford worthwhile builds which means that we would want a higher slider. Still, I think it should be rather viewed as "flexibility" rather than anti-synergy. We have tools to play any kind of game depending on terrain.
The problem with Willem is mostly the lack of power on financial trait. It is rather situational, needs bad land to truly shine and I do not expect the land on a handmade map to be bad. So, I think, Peter is the choice.
Well shoot, I believe i am locking in PETER of France.
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

Finally remembered how to attach a file... Here's the base-version of the sim. Everything visible in the screenshot, but made into a sim. Only thing i didnt match, is the exact tile ratio. i just set it to "standard" and all the other settings outlined in the tech thread. Also.. ran it in apparently the wrong exact mod. We are supposedly using a mod that has workboats buildable t0 by any civ.. but the mod i was using didnt quite have that, used the pb41? i think mod.
The notes i had for the sim were as follows- t8 mining, t10 worker, t14 farm, t23 BW done, t28 settler finishes. And i believe that to be the best and safest opening, after that the sim isnt accurate due to potential 2nd city locations.

Elkad: Mehmed (EXP/ORG) of Germany
JR4: Pericles (CRE/PHI) of the Aztec
wetbandit: Napoleon (CHA/ORG) of the Vikings
Superdeath: Peter (EXP/PHI) of France
Donovan Zoi: Catherine (CRE/IMP) of Zululand
BGN/Mr. Cairo: Julius Caesar (IMP/ORG) of Greece
Cornflakes: Rameses (IND/SPI) of the Inca
I had a whole 3-4 sentences per pick that i had wrote up.. and then my computer froze for some stupid reason. So, here is the quick version:
Elkad- decent/great leader. Crap civ. Elkad may or may not have some slight anger towards pb40. Hope i dont start near him. 5/10
JR4- Amazing leader, with a civ that doesnt combo super well. He will have to flip flop between whipping and pumping GP's. Not wanting to start next to him either, due to CRE. 8/10
Wetbandit- Good leader, only one in the field with a military advantage from the start. Vikings are kind of weak unless the map is like pb39. 6/10
Myself- Very good leader, very good civ. I plan on improving on my lack of expanding/building workers. I put myself at a 6/10
Donovan Zoi- Amazing civ and leader. Im very hopeful that he will prove others wrong this pitboss by expanding, and not building every ancient era wonder. 3/10 ( 10/10 leader/civ )
BGN/Cairo- Needs to be watched. BGN does some crazy things, and Mr.Cairo is a big planner. JC is pretty good. Greece is bottom tier, im hopeful that it was a 3rd round choice and they take awhile to tech meaningful worker techs so they can expand. 5/10
Cornflakes- I prefer Frosted Flakes. Inca was chosen because its Inca i assume. Not a terrible civ, but it cant be what he wanted with Rameses. Not a power combo. I dont know of any game that Cornflakes played in civ 4, so i will have to go searching.. 2/10
Im hopeful that we can expand and stay ahead in land compared to our neighbors. Then we can tech ourselves into a military advantage and push into someone, hopefully as the 2nd/3rd to join in. Going into this game with the mindset of farmers gambit x200.

Figured we could go with Famous Serial Killers, for our city names. North looks promising for a 2nd city site, can share the corn as well.

I figure fishing can be in after bronzeworking? Mining-bronze-fishing? In my sim i went for pottery, then fishing. But fishing would likely be the better choice.
