One thing I want to separate out:
Two of the above posters have insinuated that I'm holding the game hostage by asking people to meet some standard I personally set before I'll reload the game. Again, sometimes it's hard to see one's own faults, but I don't think this is accurate. In fact, I don't think I've once refused to comply with a majority vote/game admin decision in one of these pitboss games.
If there's ever any question of what I'm doing please feel free to PM, IM, or email me. I'm sunrise089 more or less everywhere - yahoo mail, gmail, here, even facebook (ICQ, hotmail, and sunrise089.com too, but those aren't active/monitored), and I'm on chat almost all day. If you feel ignored it's probably because either I don't know of the request, or because I have way too little information to act. In other words, I'm not going to reload the moment a person asks for one, not because I'm being a jerk, but because that would be no more fair than if I refused to reload ever.

Sunrise, I'm very sorry for any insinuations that have been made toward you. I, for one, have no reason to think anything negative toward you nor do I believe that you use your role as game host in any way to strong arm any other player or team. In every interaction I've ever had with you, you've been great.
Also, as I mentioned in my previous post, I acknowledge that having my team cover for me would have been the ideal situation. Further, sorry for not making the request for a reload more direct. I was upset that I was ignored completely and I am frustrated by the insinuation that Sullla made that I simply need to "man up" to fix this.
My personal feeling is that if the expectation is that I have to be able to check online every 18 hours, I simply cannot make that commitment. As such, at this point, I believe that the best thing may be to simply step down and allow Team 3 to cover my civ in the way of their choosing since I cannot make a guarantee that unexpected life situations will not come up.
I believe that the best way to move forward at this point is still a reload because not to reload is punishing my teammates for something that they had no control over and had no knowledge of at the time (since I didn't expect to need to have their help, I didn't tell them to be ready to cover for me).
I understand that Team one believes that I have not lived up to the expectations for this game. I apologize for the frustration that it is clearly causing for them. At this point, I am happy to have a civil agreement to disagree. As this is my first PB game of this nature, I am still learning what exactly all the game settings mean fin real life practice. I imagine some would argue that I shouldn't have signed up or should have voted for different settings to which I can only reply that it wasn't until experiencing this set up that I realized what it would mean.

Considering the circumstances, the fact that we had to get reloaded a lot earlier and the early turns, I see no reason to vote against reloading this time.
Also, I'm not going to get involved in all the blabble on if the game is a farce or not or all that other long post, but I just wanna say this: It's a GAME. Just relax and enjoy yourselves!

Sunrise, I did not intend to insinuate anything against you personally earlier, and if I haven't already done so let me take the opportunity to thank you for all the work you have put into hosting these games for the community.

As neither leader will have 2/3rds majority, I guess the question is: do we want the diplo modifier for Dazed or Sunrise for the next Galactic Council Vote?
Wait that's the wrong game. *Ahem* We vote to continue the game and not reload, but we don't care very much either way. Its just kinda tedious to reload. Do we want to extend the clock to 36 or even 48? This way instead of voting to reload, we can just yell at people to play? I think yelling at people to play is more therapeutic in the long rung and not dissimilar to yelling at people to end turn.
I rather wait 2 days than play the same turn twice in 2 days.

As Kuro has mentioned given what happened with our team, I think we have no real decent choice but to vote for reload.
After this though, can we fix the rules to being we only reload if a team misses all its turns for 2 turns in a row?
Team 4 has now realised it needs to cover if any of our players hasn't played with say 4 hours remaining, maybe other teams need to do the same?

Although I generally think that is smart (and have at least been trying to check as such for my team) it is not foolproof -- for example on the missed turn in question it rolled in the early morning my time when I was asleep.

Ok, considering the 2v2 vote I'll let the lurkers who have posted here have a single use tiebreaker and I'll go ahead and reload. Post now if you'll quit over that decision
Dazed's team: It's not my place to tell you how to behave. Sub out dazed, be more proactive in communication, be willing to miss turns, whatever. Of course I personally hope dazed can keep playing and the turns will just be covered so we don't have any issues.
Please understand though that, IMHO, the tiebreaker coming down your way here is akin to the team 4 situation - it isn't something, at all, we should treat as a precedent. My team will be extremely opposed to any further reloads for pretty much any reason. And, while I'll continue to never hold the game hostage, I also won't be proactively coming down on the side of reloading if there are future disputes without a clear consensus.
The reload itself will happen tonight when I get home, I'll post what save got reloaded to then. Please don't log in until that time to prevent (even more) save overwriting.
EDIT: It's been suggested my language is too soft above. Please just assume I said, very nicely, that we're not reloading any more under any circumstances, ok? Just pretend I'm a dictator here and am threatening to delete the game

Ok, reloaded to ShootTheMoon's turn from 680AD (last turn). Shoot, you need to reply. Dazed, you need to play within 11 hours too. Teams 3 and 4, you'll need to replay your turns.
If this isn't a window team 2 can play in please just pause the game, but lets try to get these turns played and get back to the current turn. Surely everyone has had plenty of time to think about their moves
