Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[spoilers] Pindicator and Regoarrarr - Bismark of Ethiopia

regoarrarr Wrote:I would have thought BRick was building a settler given the whole grow to size 2, starve to size 1 jibber-jabber from a few turns ago, but a) maybe he popped a warrior from a hut (mbn), or b) maybe I was wrong.

I'm pretty sure I saw SevenSpirits & T-Hawk say in the PB7 diplo thread that you can't pop warriors in MP games. Considering how he said he missed a turn or two by an hour due to his schedule being out of sorts, I think it was a micro issue for one turn that turned into starvation when he missed the turn.

Ducked in to the game quick to see demos. No score changes, but soldiers went up 2k, and rival min went up 2k, so it looks like Cyneheard built himself a warrior. I'm going to sim out with the latest sandbox, but I think we want to have our workers chop go into a work boat this turn.

Guess I better duck in and get the turn played.

I can play it here in a bit too if you want. If you get on chat we can coordinate

Actually that may be better if you do play it. I'm standing by work boat as the next build in Church Lady. I'm a bit sleep deprived for coordinating things just now: my little brother introduced me to the deck building game Dominion last night and I stayed up way too late. I actually won a game out of the dozen or so I played with his friends.lol

You're just trying to blame me in case our settler gets eaten by a lion, I get it..... :neenernee

Okay I played the turn. Settler moved to the plains hill, revealing a PREVIOUSLY HIDDEN FISH tile in its BFC!!!!!

[Image: Civ4ScreenShot0033.JPG]

Hahaha of course not. Really there's nothing there lol

We'll reveal a few more tiles in 2 hours once we are "allowed" to settle. I moved the warrior SE to guard / defog near the new city if necessary, and I agree with the chop going into the workboat. I think the workboat should go to the fish, even though it can't be shared with the new city - it's a better tile, and it lets a workboat from Celebrty Jeoprdy net the clams in 1t (saving a turn). Neither city needs to work that new seafood tile next turn anyways.

Btw someone has 15 food yikes - that's 2 5-food tiles and a 3-food tile. Probably one of the size 3 civs working a settler.

As far as actions next turn, I think Adam should move N-NW onto the forested plains hill to chop that, and Bill should move 2S after we settle and determine if it's safe to the plains forest to chop that. I think WB -> WB in Church Lady.

Looks like we'll be no worse than tied for fastest 2nd city thumbsup Kyan would be so proud! After I end turn, I will analyze the demogs / score increases, because hey, why make one post when you can make two lol

2 score increases this turn

Dazed from 58-> 64: Ancient Tech
Yuri from 55 -> 58: Joining Cyneheard and Krill in the Pop 3 club (confirmed on Top 5 cities)

Soldier and Land demographics are the same, so Dazed's tech has no soldier points. He starts with Fishing and Hunting, researched Mining on T8 and Bronze Working on T22. So in 7 turns, our options are:

* Mysticism (79 beakers)
* Agriculture (96 beakers)

I was going to say Mysticism seems like an odd choice, because he is AGG and barracks now provide culture, but then I saw that he is also IND, so a Stonehenge run seems definitely doable. So if we want 'Henge (which we talked about I know), we should probably move fast. On the other hand, if we want to use our 50% IND bonus to convert 1 hammer to 1.5 gold, we could do that (once we research Mysticism, of course lol)

I was thinking that actually we probably want to delay settling towards the end of this turn also, to minimize the chances that a hostile warrior comes out of the fog next to our settler this turn and can double move us. Or should we not worry about that?

So Pindicator and I were debating whether or not we wanted to go for Stonehenge. Then I pointed out that in this game we have

* IND civ that just teched Mysticism (Dazed)
* IND civ that possibly popped Mysticism from a hut on T23 (Ceiliazul)
* CHM civ that starts with Mysticism (Cyneheard)
* CHM civ that starts with Mysticism and IS KRILL, THE GUY WHO ALWAYS BUILDS STONEHENGE (Krill)

So.... we decided we will not be going for Stonehenge

Hmm though actually I just checked the release notes and Monuments no longer give +1 happy for CHM civs, so maybe it's not as big of a thing for Krill and Cyneheard
