Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[Spoilers] Amelia, Tempest of the Seas

Maybe you could add in some gratuitous cussing =) "Dearest fuckface..."

Or attribute it to Falamar, Craven Captain of the Boy Band Brigade.

Or not use it at all, I won't be crushed. I think just telling him "give me something good or i'll mess you up" is asking for more of the same trouble you've already got, though tongue

Hahaha well i'll have to see next turn before i come to a decision. But still, keep my options open, eh. Thank god the Calabrim have no NAP with me.

You've got to be kidding me. Uberfish just said that the Calabrim / Serdoa stack have been pushed away from the hill.

Erm, i dont think i should be moving forward now!

Quote:Ilios,

A spy came to me today, by the name of Falamar. Although i might be the queen of pirates, i trust him with many practical manners. Today, he whispered about the news that the Calabrim and Balseraphs stacks have been wiped out, and thus i have no more fear of being attacked by those vampires and clowns anymore. Is this true? Because if that's the case, I see no reason why i should accede to their demands that i attack you anymore.

Amelia.

Sent to Ilios.

Calabim. No letter "r".

I never knew that! Always thought they were the Calabrim, not Calabim.

Well I'm not sure who's been leaking info; I had a brief chat with Ilios, and apparently he blames Calabim for inciting others to attack him (well obviously that's true, but he shouldn't know that.)

Calabim will have vampires soon as they had Feudalism prereqs for a few turns, we need to make sure them and Ilios fight - Preferably over land currently held by Serdoa and not yours.

Urgh, Vampires? Looks like i have to pull back to my cities and defend, and hope Ilios / Darrell-Serdoa kill each other.

P.S: urm, i guess the rumours we spread about a vampire army making us attack him was true after all, whoops =P Oh well, no harm.

Err, who did the above message come from?

Oh, i guess I didn't write that down. It's from Uberfish, Elves. Will edit it in as well.

Huh. I'm not sure I really follow very well what exactly is happening at this point, but it sounds bad.

I guess pull back from attacking Ilios and garrison your troops in your border town with the Calabim. Expanding to that city spot I recommended toward them might be a good idea, to get cultural control in preparation for the upcoming battles. Get Stygian Guard ASAP- they're demons, and as such will resist spectres. They also beat vampires handily in 1-on-1 combat. Running max food + military state + conquest will be prudent. Dropping Aristocracy for the extra farm food will help, and God King means more troops faster from your best (and really only) production city. You can always revolt back later.

What else... make sure you have some sort of NAP with Ilios, since you can't defend on two borders (and your northern border is almost indefensible at the moment). And then if you can hit the Calabim with Saverous once he's able to reach them, and if their power is still low, then do it. He resists Death strength as well, so with shock II + march he'll be very hard for Team Calabim to kill. If you have a city which can knock out a quick settler for the north or west, then do so. Otherwise you can assume that land is lost to Ilios (which likely means the end of the game, unless you're able to take a lot of Calabim territory to make up for it).

Oh yeah, and if you want mounted, don't build horsemen, unless you're going to upgrade them to HA. 4 strength units are crap at this point, raiders or not.

EDIT: Also also, try to be a little more proactive about asking for secrecy in the future. Loose lips sink ships, and Ilios obviously shared the content of your missive (although apparently not the author) with at least Uber.
