I get another great engineer in 12t too... need to think about what to do with it.

Looking at the bulbing list I think it will go for Smelting. Not really what I am after....

Any wonders you are thinking of getting?

Actually that said, if you will be churning out the settlers fromt he capital still, does it make sense to settle?

Yes - settling in the capital is my first though - or potentially saving for a bulb but I don't like that...

Thanks! Here's hoping that I can get the show back on the road...

Unfortunately I haven't had another turn yet since Serdoa has been sitting on it for a while. Not sure why since he seemed to update another thread here in the meantime.

I have been thinking about what to use the Great Engineer for but I cannot think of anything better than settling him in the capital for +3h and +3b. With God King those hammers become 4.5h which helps a lot if I am building Settlers and Mud Golems.

He will bulb BW at the moment but i plan to finish that next before the GE is born so he will then go for Smelting. A useful tech and on the way to Iron Golems. Unlocks forges. But the engineer won't bulb the whole thing and I can't see much use for the technology in the near future - I need other more basic stuff first. A forge in Totoro would be awesome though!

On the wonder front... what could I go for?

Great Library - I could slot in Writing for the Great Library... But it requires 3 libraries to be built and I don't even have 3 cities at the moment...

Heron Throne.... no comment.

Mines of Gal'dur - would be nice but the tech beeline is too deep for me at the moment. They require Arete which isn't on the cards anytime soon.

Catacomb Libralus - Hmm... interesting choice. I am planning on getting KotE reasonably soon so the tech isn't off the cards. I will need to build a Mage Guild first though and for what? The ability to spam adepts in all cities? I think I am going to build 1 mage guild and spam adepts from 1 city instead.

Bone Palace - needs Philosophy - not on the cards. But otherwise a bit meh for a Great Engineer. Provides GE points apparently though....

So in short - I will settle the Great Engineer. (Probably)

I generally like settling the GEs as well, at least until Guild of Hammers is available. Your situation is a bit different than most SP games though smile.

Guild of the hammers is an awesome wonder. It has I want written all over it like a MacDonalds does to the obese.

I was chasing Serdoa up seeing as the save didn't arrive - he just forgot to send it - it happens!

He also forgot to send me this screen shot that has now arrived. It's pretty funny actually...

Here is our quick chat just now:

us Wrote:15:28 Serdoa: sorry, my fault with the save. I simply forgot to send it after playing it (I had a 2 day "managers conference" on Friday and Saturday and my brain has not yet recovered)
15:29 me: no problem at all
where do you want me to move the settler?
15:30 Serdoa: oh, so I did not send the screenie as well?
me: nope wink
15:31 Serdoa: changed that right now wink
15:34 me: ok - so I will move NE NE, E E, E NE, E, NE and then found.
so 6t
15:35 Serdoa: yep, sounds right. I might build a road somewhere on your way
me: ok - I'll keep my eyes peeled but unless I see anything, I'll just move as I said
15:36 Serdoa: I think nothing should be in your way. I have fogbusted the whole route I believe. So it could only move out of the fog and I will try to make sure to cover you with my troops for the later turns
15:37 me: ok

So there are 5 pyre zombies in that picture. Serdoa - you should have killed me. nod

Thanks xkcd!

Oh yeah - the turn.

I moved the settler as planned, completed a 2nd Mud Golem in Totoro and a Sculptures Studio, AT LAST, in Valley of the Wind. Valley of the Wind will build a 1t warrior next and Totoro is set on a settler.

Barny is almost healed up. Tech is set to finish BW in 4t. Then it is on to.... meh - I can't decide...

one of:

Festivals - Markets are good.

KotE - Adepts are good.

WotEm - Runes of Kilmorph is good.

So which one is it to be?!?!

Well - I am little concerned that the Sidar will found RoK so maybe I need to test the waters... Probably going to be either Festivals or WotEm to be honest.

The Market is a basic building that most cities end up building. It provide Gold directly allowing you to keep your slider higher on science - spamming markets is a no brainer, especially for me as a financial civ.

60h*0.5 = 30h*0.67 = 21h SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM

For the above reason I have to take Festivals as my next tech after BW.

For the record:

In addition to providing 1 smile and 1gpt for the city with RoK, the temple adds an additional 2gpt but no culture is available from RoK... It means you have to look elsewhere for popping those initial borders. The Thane of Kilmorph is an option providing enough culture to pop the first borders of a city and let it ork its bfc, but that is no good if you aren't generating any other culture - especially in border regions.

And this is why KotE is appealing:

It really is awesome - with 4 adepts I can heal a bazillion golems and catapults back up to pretty much full health in most cases.
