Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

It would take less work to disappear the gold rather than re-playing, but by shifting the loss of gold 1t later, I think we would gain a small advantage. So I wouldn't promote that option without other teams wanting it. (I don't think the difference is significant or I wouldn't suggest it at all.)

I'm fine with either. If you finished a tech last turn obviously the 1t matters otherwise I don't think I really does much.

(Posting from my phone so not easy to check civstats as to whether you got a tech or not)

Yeah, got a tech, that's why it matters. However, the benefit of the tech for this one turn is incredibly small and probably completely irrelevant.

Well then it's probably ok if the gold disappears next turn then. I've played my turn anyway (4H not up yet).

I still don't even understand this whole "strike" thing, or how or when it happens. So I'll leave you all to deciding how to resolve the thing above.
Though I probably still need someone to explain it to me so that I don't accidentally do it myself. Since I don't know what scenario would cause whatever it is that's happening right now.

Explanation for HitAnyKey:

If you end turn and gpt is negative, and greater in magnitude than your gold reserves (example: you have -15 gpt and only 14 gold) then you strike that turn.

- It says "STRIKE" next to your gpt.
- It plays angry crowd sounds.
- Your gold reserves drop to zero, but not below.

Additionally, if you strike multiple times in a game, the game will start disbanding increasing numbers of your units each turn you strike. But it doesn't do this the first time. So the first time is pure profit: you effectively earn gold equal to the difference between your negative gpt and your reserves. Subsequent strikes also earn you gold, but at the cost of losing more and more units.

We have banned ending turn in a strike if you currently have net gpt trades to your partner.

If you look in-game, you can see that Sumeria is trading 27 gpt to Rome. When you go into anarchy, your gold production and upkeep costs are zeroed out for that turn, but foreign expenses still apply. So Sumeria was making -27gpt and only had 1 gold. By striking, we effectively got 26g for free, which is unfair and against the rules we decided on.

Do you guys know when you might be playing the other half of your turn?

Probably in a hour or two.

Just played, onto you guys. Sorry for the delay. When I first had a window to play last night it still wasn't clear if we were reloading or not so I held off at that point.
