[SPOILERS] Team SsS

Oh and I messaged Exploit the correct ETA on Iron Working. We should have it by turn 69 and not turn 71 as I wrote in the email.

We have received two more messages during the day.

Exploit;
Quote:Dear Sandover,

Your ETA on Iron Working is excellent news. Mayan and Byz participation is confirmed although the timeline may be thrown off by a turn or two. The Mayan's have a target of opportunity and will divert their chariot to raze T-Shirt Contest which only has 1 warrior defender. They have approximately a 90% chance of success. This will delay their arrival to the rendezvous by an estimated 2 turns depending upon healing time. The Byz chariot has encountered significant barbarians enroute which may also require them to heal up for a round or two. I will continue to coordinate with them to facilitate the meeting of your 3 civs and update the routes and timelines as events unfold.

Based upon the power chart of India which I can now see. It is believed that India's army consists of 4-5 warriors, with no chariots, barracks or walls. The slaving which they did 3 turns ago did not result in a power increase so it is believed to have been for a worker. It is also believed that the population of the India cities will not support significant slaving.

Regards,
Exploit

Quote:Team SsS,

We'd be very interested in trading settlers/workers for Spreats down the road.
Unfortunately, now is the time they really would make a difference, but maybe we'll be the ones on the war path for a while longer.
We already have a small army of axes and they do need something to do.... wink

We hope we'll be able to raze the Aztecs second city in the next few turns, but the capital will take a bit longer (5 archers there now, but size 1).
Thankfully the money from pillaging and razing will let us do a small research project and might give us access to horses...

We'll keep you informed of our progress.

Regards,
Nakor for JANK

Picture Update:

Upon logging in this morning I spotted a French warrior nearby Stitch. For some reason they haven't sent us any greeting message so I guess we'll have to initiate contact on our own.

I have finally caught up over the weekend.

It has really made me think about how much of an input I am going to be able to make to this game - Not as much as you 2!!!! lol

I will regularly lurk the thread and input when I can - hopefully once the end of the financial year is up I'll have more free time. Wish I could input more as it is starting to get really interesting!

One comment I do have is that we will need some production cities up fairly soon - perhaps settling south near those pigs would be a good site to churn spraets out of.

Yeah, a powerhouse production city surely wouldn't hurt. Sandograd can reach a nice amount of hammers once it swaps to working mines instead of cottages but Scooterville will have to stick to its output of 6 hammers/turn for a long time to come. Iron down by the pigs would be great!

We've received some updates on the situation but I don't feel like posting each and every forwarded message we get in here so I'll stick to making a brief summary.

-Maya attacked DJ's fourth city, T-Shirt Contest, at the end of last turn with a lone chariot and razed it.
-The plan to attack Karaoke Tuesday is still to be carried out, though it might be delayed slightly.
-The Anglo-French are thought to be part of the Hydra but that is yet to be confirmed.
-We might be asked to research Sailing after Iron Working.

That's great news about the razing... I'm slightly nervous about what India did again - this is the second time they've taken whatever team was attacking and invited them to the Hydra. I don't think any teams would do that, but it still makes me slightly nervous that someone might defect, because rego is very good at making it sound like a good idea. It seems kind of lame to me, kind of a "well we didn't want you in at first, but now that you can damage us, we want you in! Nevermind that you're the last person invited."

Hey on reading this email chain we got forwarded, there are two major developments.

1. The Hydra will be Oracling alphabet on next turn. This doesn't surprise me, and it's not a major setback I don't think... Exploit isn't that far away from alphabet, so it's no biggie really.
2. France is in the Hydra. I'm considering writing up an email that basically tries to get them to ditch the Hydra... Do we have any leverage there? Meaning do we know anything that would make the argument more convincing? When I get some time I might dig through old emails. It's worth a shot...

I don't think trying to sway France over to our side will do much good. They're surrounded by Hydra members and would put themselves in a very dangerous positiong by switching sides. Not to mention that we'd reveal our offical stance to the Hydra, and I'd prefer to at least keep them guessing our true intentions rather than telling them upfront that we're committed to an anti-alliance at this point. Or maybe I'm looking at this from the wrong angle?

Oh and btw, did you spot Krill's reaction in the email thread when the Ottomans announced their declaring war on the Aztecs and Inca? He's such a bad actor.lol
Reply

Yeah Krill's "reaction" made me laugh when I saw that. Knowing him he probably orchestrated it himself lol.

I think you're probably right about the France thing - our biggest advantage right now is most Hydra members aren't completely sure where we stand, and that's completely fine with me. Might be something to revisit later, but not yet.
