[spoilers] The what goes where?

I've been thinking of about the route we take into Q land. We can either hit in the north (Constantinople?), in the South (there are three cities we can threaten from 1 tile) or in the middle (against the '?' city location).

Here are my views on these three options:
North
Ok. Gets us started. We run into hills straight away (which is good and bad)
Not to sure where we go after we take Constantinople ... over the hills towards the Gems sight and his capital?

South
Interesting.
Lots of options regarding where to hit and how to proceed
May also spark a move from Cale to 'get in on the act'

Center
Splits his territory
Would need a solid push
Lots of options

If we can pull it off, can we hit Constantinople to get the rumble going, put a quick moving force in the South to entice Cale into war but have our main force hitting the middle?

Is that too adventurous? Or is it just right as we need to start taking some risks?

T130 played. Not much to report.
Machinery in, next turn, so Macemen I think?

I think in the south we only defend. Both us and Q have a good defensive position there. If Caledorn jumps on Q as well, Q has to move troops to the south, whereas we can use our excess troops to hit the middle.

I will play the current turn (131) in the next hours. Then I am away until Sunday.
But I think that should give me enough time to play late on the T132.

Machinery in. Set it to Civil Service, but reduced research to 0%.

I have loaded 4 Axes onto the two galleys at Lynn, ready to strike at Constantinople next turn. Still only one Spear in it. Size 7 city. Shall we go for it if the situation is still the same next turn?

Finished turn.
If T132 threatens to roll before Sunday evening (European time) , please try to get a lurker or pause.

I posted in the tech thread re getting a lurker to cover.

What is the current unit disbursement of the main army? I would prefer that any action was (slightly) coordinated.

On the other hand ... it just might be time to fund CS from conquest gold.

Well, the rest of the army is not yet organized, since a massive assembly at the borders would signal our intentions. My idea was to raze Constantinople at the cost of 3 Axemen and then follow up with the proper army a few turns later. Up to you. If Constantinople has now two defenders the raid is off, anyway.
Also Const would need to be razed as we have no means to reinforce in time.

Alternatively we leave Const for later.
I can of course understand if you want to do the warfaring. smile

Turn played. Did not attack. Const only held by one Spear still.

Obfuscated troop movement a bit.
Troops could assemble at staging tiles next turn and invade the turn after.
