Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILERS] Pindicator promises brighter days ahead

So this turn we have to decide about the 1 movers. I'm starting to lean towards sitting on the hill where we are and healing some units by not moving them this turn. Next turn I can promote an HA to sentry (it got 1xp this turn) and we'll have better vision. Giza is safe with an injured knight and an spear in it.

I have one knight by thebes that can join the byblos offensive or join the 1 movers. Byblos has 3 heavily injured units in it. but could reinforce with the 2 movers south of ASuyt or if his main stack went SW, he could reinforce with his main stack.

I also haven't decided what to do with the knight in Helipolis. He could pillage the village and then stay in the city, or he could pillage and move south, or just move south. Helipolis has no defenders now besides that knight since I have the spear down in Giza. I could move a spear from thebes towards Helipolis. Notgav does not have any galleys in range in any case.

Optics in 2ts at 70% saves gold.

I'm going to leave a few units to defend coastal cities from possible TBS including 2 knights but I don't think he'll attack next turn.

I'm going to go swim with my daughter for an hour and then I'll come back and finish the turn.

I left the stack on the hill so that the wounded knights and HAs can heal a bit and we wait a turn to get the sentry. If you disagree we can move the 1 movers out onto the hill SW, but If we press on to Asyut on flat land I'm afraid we'll get wrecked.

I killed 4 HAs, 1Xbow, and 3 WCs at the price of 2 knights this turn. We'll see if he attacks the ele I left in Memphis. Maybe I should move all the 1 movers into memphis, but that's also a bit of a trap since its basically flat land. Should I move a mace and spear in on the city with the ele? That's a good defensive combo and would likely take him a bunch of units to break through, which we could then clean up on the counterattack. Dreylin seems to be taking a while so we do have some time to think about it before he plays.

I'll put the pic up when it works again...

Also plako took Uruk and sent a big HA stack east into NotGav's lands, if we wait a bit plako should take the south and help hamstring NotGav.

Ok, that's good. I this preserves our mobility more, though it does put the small stack out by Byblos more at risk of being wiped.
I keep going back and forth as to whether we raze Byblos.

Well it's going to be impossible for him to wipe out small stack because he doesn't have enough 2 movers in the area. The spear is the only one that might get wiped. It depends on where his main stack is. Nothing he has can hit that stack this turn. He can only get more units into Byblos.

Once again Not Gav plays right before I would go to bed, so I stay up late to look things over. I promoted our horse archer to sentry, but haven't moved anything

Byblos is defended, and it seems the stack would lie between the two cities of Memphis and Byblos. Notice how Gaza was not harassed again this turn despite it swapping several times before.

Plako has taken cities south of Asyut and will soon be able to threaten cities I'd prefer we capture ourselves. But we still have some time there I think ...

If the army is sitting on the marked tile then I think it is best to capture Memphis next turn and move everything onto the hill -- assuming his numbers haven't somehow grown, we should outnumber him and look to force a confrontation. In fact, him reinforcing Byblos is to our benefit here: we move the Byblos force onto a nearby hill (allowing our sentry chariot a movement point to spy SE a tile), and don't engage but instead look to tie down units.

Where else could he be if not there? Only other spot I can think of is his units are inside of Asyut itself.

The other thing I looked at was TBS. He has made no real increase in power and there is no real army anywhere near our border. The only threat he poses is from the sea, so we still have time to conquer Not Gav lands. We're making appropriate strides there, with Kingsbury and Gleierscher looking to increase their garrisons and the capital building for Hyo-Jun. I think 4 strong units each is the minimal garrison we want - these are some of our strongest cities and I don't want to risk them to anything but a dedicated alpha strike.

Ok so only his 2 movers will be able to hit Memphis once we put our army on the hill. That means leave an elephant and a spear in the city and it should be fine. The rest can go on the hill.

The Byblos stack should retreat. Move the Knights NW into plakos land and his 1 movers can't hit them but the Knights can use plakos roads to still hit Byblos. The spear goes NE to a hill none of the units in Byblos should be able to one shot it so at worst it'll allow us to kill two units and weaken Byblos

This looks straightforward to me.
