RBPBEM FfH #1 [SPOILERS] Sareln of the Svartalfar
|
Ilios Wrote:So, long-term, what's the plan? Will you remain vassalised to the Calabim? Long term plans probably. We'll see what sort of opportunities present themselves. Bob didn't *have* to save me or protect me. Allied to Bob and in a permanent NAP with Selrahc leaves me fairly secure, so I'll be trying to expand, pick up the techs that are important, and build up the forces necessary to start dictating policy / gaining more territory / etc. Sareln Wrote:Cull what are you doing? Your power rating is below mine, and that's on the back of 2 hunters and 4 warriors... I dont think its spoilerish to say you guess is as good as ours. I dont think Cull beleives in posting in spoilerthreads.
Globally Lurking:
Unspoilt in all (at the moment) Playing: Finished: PBEM 11: Hammurabi of England (Probably Last) Pitboss 4: Wang Kon of Arabia (Finished 7th out of 8)
Education is in, time to cottage spam. I'm building a 3rd worker in the capital, I'll probably stop running the scientist in Schwartzwald to let it grow (all of it's forests are ancient now), and once the Calabim pick up cartography, I'll be able to run my workers south to improve that city as well. This will give me an actual income!
![]() Tech will go crafting -> mining -> BW -> Philosophy -> Priesthood. the only units I build should be workers and hunters while clearing out jungles and getting everything set up correctly. In the near future, I should contact Selrahc about my expansion plans to make sure I don't conflict with him, talk to Cull to set a lump-sum gold to pay for the temporary succor he gave. In the longer future, I'm tempted to build a bunch of hunters and kill Cull if he looks weak, purely because he takes too long to play his turns. Is that an overreaction? :neenernee Well, that, and he's the easiest route of expansion for me once I've filled the middle of the map, it's that or a coordinated takedown of Iskender with DaveV.
Crafting in, adding more hunters.
Great scientist pops in the capital come end of turn, will use for an academy. Calabim are clearing out ruins, which'll be great since that means I can get a river grassland cottage going as well. Next up is probably an expo out to the dyes.
I just finished reading this thread -- fascinating stuff, and a great escape from the PoW rush.
This and the other RB PBEM FFH2 game have gotten me trying the mod myself, and I wanted to thank you for all the excellent explanations of game mechanics. The magic system posts were especially helpful. ![]() Good luck with your plans to restore your elves to a position of power.
I agree. The Dark Elves future is one of the ones i'm most interested in seeing. The Great Escape was handled brilliantly and now your capital is right in the middle of the map, in terms of influence that rocks. Plus you can have so many options to annoy people with that positioning and your assassins.
