Mania Wrote:What should we say to India's email?

How about we demand alphabet for our chariot and a longterm NAP. Of course they would never accept that but they might then understand our frustrations a little better...

Thanks! Oh man, good thing I didn't chat with them before I saw that smile

Sorry guys, I cocked up.

Then again, I doubt they would have been willing to let us into the tech alliance after it appears they have already traded alphabet at least around to everyone. And yes their offer was pretty pathetic. I really don't think there is anyway that we can work with India for the time being until they start to shed some of their allies.

So not too much lost hopefully?

Yeah, nothing too bad at all- actually ends up giving us at least something to talk about with them, not that I expect or necessarily even want anything to come of it. I was just worried that they had become aware of our attack plans. Don't worry about it smile

We still need to discuss as a team our research path, plans for the Normandy (ie movement), and what we will be sending vs. India in the future. The sooner we can reach a consensus the better, and with RL a group chat seems unlikely before this weekend, so please whenever you and Moogle get a chance skim through my last few posts here and the latest missives in the inbox and give our civ some direction.

Quick edit before I go to bed- I sent a brief message to India, didn't reveal too much of anything. Ignore the typo at the end :P

No worries Mania, it happens. And in hindsight, the message wasn't too bad in the end. smile

Anyway, I agree that we should talk about our long-term strategies outside of managing our cities. I haven't been available a lot due to work, but actually have the next few days off so plenty of time if you guys are up for setting a time to talk about it. Would somewhere tonight work out for you?

Turn 64 has started, so I moved our non-military units according to the turn plan. The Citadel was whipped to finish its chariot, but will regrow to size 4 next turn. Feros finished its Granary and has started on another chariot, and Eden Prime gained added production from a forest chop to speed up its Monument. The Workers are busy improving the tiles around the cities.

A Quecha made its way over to the border of Feros, so we now have contact with all members of our alliance. An English Warrior made its way out of the fog towards the NW of Feros as well. I'm not too concerned about it, but I moved Fredricks to cover the Worker just in case.

Finally, the borders of the city that babylon planted to our immediate west are now visible. They appear to have settled in the spot we agreed upon. smile

I think I should be logged on to both the team account and my personal one at the usual time tonight- hopefully will be able to chat then.

Updating with some brief notes-

Talked to Moogle last night; barring objections from Mania, looks like the plan is to build up a force of HA for aiding Maya if they're under attack, or for a latter assault on Krill once the India war ends, while we expand in the meantime.

Research is to finish poly, then decide based on needs of the alliance and whether mono is gone or not.

The Normandy will continue to heal and stay close to assist Exploit if necessary, but will not be gifted to him under any circumstances. We need to maintain control of that unit so that we can get the HE. Also, it's a good unit and I'm not just going to give it up. Explot is not happy about this and seems to be threatening to slow alphabet's research time because he has to "change plans" to better prepare a defense for his civ from a potential threat. If Exploit really does dramatically reduce his research time, then he becomes much less useful. He had proposed that both of us hold off settling a city that takes the gold until turn 80, but we never officially agreed to anything; depending on how "useful" he is, we may want to simply poach the site. If Exploit really does have a genuine threat against him, then we should assist, and may want to involve the new 3rd chariot, but again, no gifting.

In other news I managed to get the Agincourt badly dinged attacking a barb lion, and only got 1 exp for the ordeal. Augh!

Still not contact with France.

Turn rolled over surprisingly quickly. Not much news; Agincourt scouted some more, but found little of note (still needs to heal, but I'd rather find France ASAP then waste too many turns healing in place). I moved the Normandy next to Exploit's borders so he'll stop bugging us about how soft and vulnerable he is. If someone does declare on him, then we ought to keep him alive at least until he finishes alpha, otherwise just heal on the hill in his borders 1SW of the Normandy's current docking site. I moved the SSV Iwo Jima south- we may want to send it to Exploit as well (NOT to gift), in case he really does come under attack. Might as well get some scouting done at the same time.

The alliance continues to dither about who to attack or where to defend. Politics is boring :P

India finally sent us an email reply- I think they've been using "invisible" mode on G-chat to avoid us for whatever reason. Essentially according to the email they don't want us to declare on them because it will totally slow both of us down or something, but it won't affect their alliance, which they can't get to give us any techs, and which they refuse to leave. Entirely worthless, and ignores the obvious point that slowing India (or any Hydra techer) down is the only way we can catch up. To be honest I'm not too interested in dignifying them with a response, but if one of you guys feels compelled knock yourselves out.
