QUESTION:
If you build a lumbermill on a smoking tile - does it put it out?
Also - how do you put it out? Spring?
I know that it will eventually catch fire properly and then become a new forest again but not a lot else.

In the good old days, with SPI Beeri (I think it was Beeri) and no Masony requirement, it was pop the spell, settle the hammer, and revolt to Pascifism on t1 . GE came out super fast, and got settled. Good times.

Pretty sure it doesn't. You should go test though if you need a definite answer.

Spring, Tsunami, Snowfall. I think it must be an odd situation when you're getting archmages to run around with snowfall to put out forest fires.
I would personally appreciate a worker action to remove smoke. I'm sure the Ljosalfar would like it too.

Yeah.. Smoke->Flames->Burnt Forest->New Forest->Forest. I don't have the odds for any of that though. It seems to happen fairly quickly though.
I remember reading an interesting Clan of Embers proposal where they treated Flames as 3/3/3 tiles, encouraging a clan player to engage in a cycle of burning and regrowing forests. (With a worker action added to them to allow them to plant jungle, so the strategy wasn't reliant on leaves)

Thanks Selrahc,
The tiles to the east of Totoro have been smoking for quite a long while now and haven't combusted so I imagine that will happen soon. There is also a chance that the smoke with spread to adjacent tiles but once again, I don't know the chances. For now I probably need to chop and isolate the smoking trees so that if I do research Archery and start building lumbermills, they don't go up in smoke too! That would be on the Justin beiber side of of annoying.
Turn 93
I completed the corn farm and a road so that I had an additional source of Corn to trade. I was chatting to Serdoa yesterday - I'm not going to post the chat since we deviated in subject quite a lot and I can't bear the editting for spoilers. Anyway - we agreed a Corn <-> Ale trade so next turn I will have an extra happy face to play with!
Obviously this helps Serdoa in giving him an extra 10% commerce at his city (Capital I believe) and an extra health.
With the extra happy coming next turn I reconfigured Totoro so that it will grow in 2t - I was 1 food short of being able to complete the mud golem and grow in 1t!
So - lets look at this smoke situation:
Already contained! The red tiles are smoking and the yellow tile could catch too. Other then that I can just lumbermill away and they won't be at risk of burning down.
So - this leads on to the next question - what tech next?
KotE
RoK holy tech
Archery

Smoke is a terrain feature, while the Lumber Mill is an improvement. I doubt that putting a Lumber Mill on a Smoke tile will put it out. Spring will, however.

Blinding light stops movement, not casting.

You can't improve a forest while it is smoking.

WB testing indicates that blinded units cannot cast spells.
