ASM is completely fucking mental.
LP is quite literally the most obnoxious person to play a game with that I have ever seen.
I'd never play a game against either of them after this. (Though in fairness, I'd already decided I'd never play against LP after PB4. Ok, in fairness I'm probably not going to play any more games, period, but the point still stands.)
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I remember seeing ASM post on Team Liquid, maybe the place rubbed off on him

Wow, shit's fucked.
Was Seven logged into the game with LP when ASM was trying to connect (which I think I read at some point)? Coz if he was, my guess would be ASM was probably getting bounced by Seven, not LP.

Maybe we need a recognized "casual" cadre, including people like you and xenu. There's plenty of like-minded folks, and no implied skill level difference. There's absolutely no reason that the hyper competitive folks should ruin it for the others.
In the meantime, there's always SP tournys. 51 is a lot of fun so far!

I agree it's farfetched to think LP is purposely manipulating a firewall to bounce other players out, but ASM does have a point that it's possible, and really bizarre and coincidental that such an error would suddenly pop up right at that critical point.

Well, at the very least, Seven was able to log in while LP was connected during the time that ASM was unable to. So unless Parkin had a way to specifically bounce ASM (is that even possible?), it seems unlikely that Parkin had set something up to keep others out while he was logged in.
Still, he really needs to stop manipulating the clock, it's getting ridiculous (if it wasn't already).

TBH, it shouldn't be that difficult for Parkin if he was motivated. Plenty of opportunities for him to isolate ASM's ip address when only the two of them were logged in. Once you have the IP its trivial to set up a rule to block someone out.

I just cant imagine anyone seriously thinks any player, including LP, would get any joy from cheating by fire-walling another player or any of the other silly nonsense suggested. Then all that scary stuff about DoS and the like... I mean, ASM needs to take a beak.
I think he is just p***ed with himself for a noob error of leaving a city unguarded and losing it and then creating a whole hysteria to mask that mistake.
LP's start position was poor as hell. He has played well.
I still do not see why there is all this fuss over double moves. If he was my neighbour or anyone else was my neighbour a good strategist would surely expect the double move and plan and play accordingly. The double move is not illegal. It is specifically allowed. Like all the other game rules plan and play to the rule.
Also, this silliness with people bringing stuff over from other games is bizarre. It's like kindergarten... I'm not playing with him again because he he did such and such the other day .. I mean for goodness sake. Its pathetic.
Playing against a challenging opponent like LP ought to be relished not disparaged; you should concentrate bringing you own game up rather than stifling a clever player and keeping him down.
Unless I am wrong, can anyone really say that LP broke the rules? PLEASE??

LP's been overly competitive and a bit of a jerk, but there's absolutely no reason to kick him out.
(Besides, we need someone to compete with the MackSeven PainTrain).

I don't want to replace them, I have no reason to kick either of them out ( drama aside, they did not break any rules ) I want them both to step down. They obviously can't play together and they are a source of much bad blood. If they don't want to step down, fine, but have someone else babysit the asylum. This is not the function I signed up for and I really don't have time for a second full-time job.

All in all I still stand by my decision from yesterday.
Either the game gets called ( because it is nothing like it was supposed to be ),
both LP and ASM go on their own ( because they are part of the problem and I can't imagine having a grip on the game further down the road if either of them stays ),
or I go ( because moderating this kind of mess is a full-time paid job I have neither time for nor inclination to do for free )
End of story.
