[TECH] RBP20 IT and Tech issues thread

Finally got a short breather after the latest insane weekend. Thought I'd get a chance on Sunday, but a 10 hour day turned into a 12 hour day, and with a 6am start the next morning there was simply no time. Looks like Caledorn is logged in to my civ now and Grimace will get a new password so I presume things are being sorted out.

I will give a word of warning that substituting a person who says they have never played multiplayer before in their life into a leading position like this is going to result in the largest possible jolt to the balance of power. This will be pretty tough on Grimace, so I hope the lurkers will be liberal in their help. Those aware of the geographical situation around my civ will be very aware of exactly who stands to benefit the most out of this switch, and how easily the game could turn into a farce.

That said, thanks to Grimace for stepping up, and best of luck to you. smile

Please hold off on unpausing the game until I've had some sleep. I'm going to bed now. LP's Civ is caught in a diplowindow, so I can't do much unless the game is unpaused.

Hopefully someone will be available to log in and unpause tomorrow.

What? He still didn't log in for this turn or post his password?

Apparently Caledorn changed my password. I can't log in or do anything.

I've unsubscribed from Civstats. Grimace, you can sign up instead for turn notifications.

I thought changing password was impossible without converting to AI especially when he even couldn't even get through diplo window.

I thought he couldn't actually log in without kicking me to AI first, and according to Civstats he didn't do that. My guess is he logged in using the admin password, and in doing so reset my password to the admin password. I tried my password multiple times, as well as no password at all.

Logging in with the admin password does indeed override the user password. It's an automatic part of what happens when a host overrides a user and logs in that way, and not an intentional act on my behalf.

If someone is available to log in and unpause the game, I am now awake again.

I can unpause. Caledorn you still around?

Yeah, I am. Did you unpause? I see you logged in according to Civstats.
