RB Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Gandhi of Korea (Broker33 & plako)

Another island to the east. I think our expansion plans should be to gobble up as many islands as possible and defend with navy. We could also try to expand west on the mainland but whosit will eventually take another shot at us to wipe us off the mainland.

Current status. I'm slow building settler on our capital while I hired 2 Scientists there (waiting whipping anger to settle). I'm a bit ashamed that these are our 1st GPP points in this game, but agressive Rome on our neighbour is probably good enough excuse for this. The island in the east seems alright. We'll had to discuss with Kalin/Athlete about settling deal there.

Are you considering settling the deer/wheat location to the west of your capital? You called it mediocre earlier, but it looks decent to me!

Edit: oh I didn't see the post two above this one where you consider exactly that, and dismiss it! Sorry for the thread clutter

dont know if we want to share the islands. It is really our only area to expand into I think we should take the crab, deer incense spot and then one east of that spot also. They have land to expand into we dont.

I've promised Deer for Nakor/DMOC. Thier city is there collecting it already.

In my opinion we should try to keep the list of hostile neighbours at 1. I'll try to negotiate about this with Athlete and Kalin.

DMOC/Nakor seem to have some kind of deal with Whosit. They delivered the Missionary to him. I don't like this at all.

Our Great Scientist is 6 turns away, but it might be I want to build/whip settler before that happens.

I sent this to Nakor/DMOC

Quote:I hope I'm wrong, but it seems to me you delivered a Confucian Missionary to Whosit. This strikes me odd and hostile since I'm naturally culturally battling with him currently. Are you really willing to aid the agressor that clearly is strong enough already?

I really hope you could cancel all the dealings with him.

And this to athlete/Kalin:

Quote:As you might know we don't have many places to settle after Whosit has closed the mainland from us. After checking the island between us, would it be alright if we settle a city in the hill that collects 2*Crab+Deer+Incense tiles and is N-N-N-NE from one of your cities in the main land (wild guess. It could be former Byzantium capital) and has 2 tiles that are common to both cities BFCs. That would left the eastern part of the island to you assuming you're fast enough since Whosit has Galley around and probably tries to settle the island also. Eastern part of the island looks really great. There is wheat, copper, Whale, fish and wine available.

I hope this isn't too pushy to ask, but could you tell me what is your relationship with Whosit? I'm trying to find a way to pay him back, but I can't do it alone. Could you consider joining in common effort with me?

Here are screenshot of our cities and island in question.

As you can see I'm trying my best to find friends against Whosit. My big fear is that someone else sees our weakness and takes advantage of it and our possible way to survive is to sell our soul to Whosit.

We really had to find dsp soon. Easiest route is probably to send a boat, but I really don't feel like we've enough hammers to spare for expedition currently.

Response from Nakor:

Quote:You know the old saying: Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer...
We have to keep on good terms with Whosit if we don't want to suffer the same fate you have.
At least at this time in the game.

We hope that confusianims will spread to Seoul of it's own accord, but if now, we'll send a missionary your way once we'll be able to build them.

I hope you can understand the difficult situation we're in.

I've been negotiating with Kalin/Athlete and we've agreed that I can settle 2 cities on the island close to them. They requested that we shouldn't trade with Sullla/Speaker. I haven't yet answered to them, but it seems there is something boiling up there (maybe they have got too advanced). It is probably on our best intrest to avoid annoying our neighbours so I'll probably accept.

Next desicion is should I whip settler immediately on our capital or wait until we get our 1st Great Scientist (~4 turns) and whip after that.

Just to help my memory I'll put the list of nations on the ring, that are probably located like this:
DMOC/Nakor - Dantski - Speaker/Sullla - Jowy/Yaz - athlete/Kalin - dsp - Whosit

Since neighbours of India have been peaceful as well as India. There probably is lack of land this is probably leading to war.

My general plan is to stay peaceful (maybe even towards Whosit) settle as fas as all possible citie so that we'll have 7 of them. On tech front I think I'll concentrate on sea might before Hwacha's and go Monarchy (~107) - Metal Casting (~120) - Mathematics (~127) - Construction (~136). I'll try to get Colossus for us. I think we won't have a chance for Great Lighthouse although I might try to build it, if it hasn't gone in ~5-10 turns, but I won't make very serious effort.
