If we can't get to a consensus on how to do picks, I'd rather just do a full snake with no bans as a backup option. The only real reason I care about the bans is I feel there's a significant drop in value from India/Inca to the rest of the civs. Not so much true with the leaders where the drop Pacal to, I don't know, Huayna/Willem is not that bad. That's balanced to an extent by you getting last shot at leaders, but I do think the teams who grab Inca/India get an inherently better combination regardless of who the first 3 leaders taken are. Perhaps I'm overstating those two, but they are the only reason I care about bans - I couldn't care less about the "same boring picks" thing.

It can be done separately per team. These would be the choices, which each team can make at their discretion:

- Fully private, only approved members let in. (This would be set up like the CFC demogame, with one or more captains in charge of approving access.)

- Open to all logged in users, except for members of other teams. Not visible without a login.

- Open to all, even without any login. (Still not visible for logged in members of other teams, but they could log out to read it. Prevents accidental cheating but only accidental.)

I feel like this got lost in the shuffle, but we do still need to figure this out. This is the clearest breakdown of our 3 options, and while I have my opinion, all 3 of these are acceptable. I'd suggest teams discuss and include their preference as a part of the official voting thread.

Man, I really hate my timezone some times. All the good discussion happens when I'm asleep.

Anyway, my idea was not intended to be balanced, it was intended to be fun and different. So if you want to have a balanced situation then it's best to go with an unrestricted snake or having teams ban a leader / civ via snake pick like Krill / scooter suggested.

This is my thought as well. I really love some of the ideas people are coming up with, but I think with five teams and a game that is approaching 60 participants, the best thing to do is an unrestricted snake pick. Everyone is going to get a great combo and the game will be a lot of fun. This is my preference...our team's preferences will be posted shortly .
