Sorry wheel please. It probably got lost in my rambling. But wheel is one of the main reasons I didn't pick India. You all have no clue how much I wanted to go uber speed India.
I mean Zulu is GREAT. I just said agg zulu while being one of the better agg combos, still doesn't fill me with joy to play agg. I'll play agg Rome again for fun, but unless its a tight might map I'm not a fan of agg even if later in the game its pretty good.

I wasn't going to post because I think T0 screenshots are overdone, there isn't much additional information. HOWEVER,
A MARBLE ISLAND?!?! Is this even a Tarkeel map?
Also, it looks like the wine was hand placed. Could have a city sharing plains cow 1S of the corn. Shall see. Have to remind myself barbs are on while scouting. Will probably do 1 more turn NE then swing back around.

BTW, Zulan's warnign about non-ascii character names was aimed at you. That non-standard ' probably messes up the savefilenames on the server; worst case we can't reload to your login/-outs.

Don't know if I like this.
The mountain chain to my west looks suspiciously fake. AND it takes up 4 tiles of an otherwise awesome commerce city. That city is better than I hoped for. Will also cause a change to micro (which I haven't done since pick phase) due to actually having new food there. My micro for picking was based on no new food and just floodplain city steal wheat a la PB70.
I didn't want to waste a precious no barb turn turn checking for unlikely seafood off east coast, but am somewhat regretting as the settling plan varies wildly and if distances are short I may not get a warrior up there to check for a while. I'm leaning B anyways though. A2 grow cottages can still be a filler city under the B scheme.
But ya that mountain chain looks like it was meant to delay a rush east west from an obvious second city spot by 1 turn. A very thin line of jungle south before more trees.
Demos look weird with this tech setup. I was very confused at once point until I realized I'm getting two prereq bonus while others aren't. Demo reading has always been a weakness of mine, but here it is for people who care.

SIGH. Those mountains probably were manually added. On my half of the land too. If you have to draw mountains the map is too tight!!! (most of the tiime, I'm still waffling if I like the ones in PB79). I do really like 12 tiles as min distance. 10 always feels a lot different even though its not THAT much different.
That is SDs grey peaking through, which means Dreylin is probably on the greens continent. I guess its been a few games since SD and I have bordered, but man it doesn't feel it.
Debating if I'm meeting next turn. Thanks to his culture and me having hunting its not THAT dangerous to land on a flat tile. I could also move 1, but that always feels bad. I do like just starting getting my EP spend going, although it also gets his going. Also, what are the odds if he does a circuit he won't see me? (although SD does sometimes do a small bit of scouting and then just send his scout in a line out, so he may find someone distant and not know about me for a while).

Horse - not bad, but little awkward for Bs. B serious is still open because I'll get T50 and B2 is really good. A2 plains hill is quite a natural production monster though.
I did end up going warrior first. WB first opening produced a warrior 1T after first settler, so it was a bit greedy. Delays settler by a turn, but I think I get to use that turn roading the cow. I WAS going to road the plains tile next to the cow, but a forest grew.

And the south is explored, all very little of it.
I have the classic choice of squeeze more cities in vs better cities. We shall see.
I think most people would send their scout off here to go explore more. If you've read my threads before (or Miro's) you'll know I consider that to be stupid. Keep your scouts close with barbs on (or honestly even without). AND especially with a near SD. I learned the lesson of keeping my scout close specifically from SD warrior rushing me back in PB54 when I didn't keep my scout close. I may go look at B1 plains hill to check for seafood then go barb bust in the north.
The warrior btw isn't moving to attack SD. Its just going to sit on that tile. Assuming everyone has a plains hill ivory even if I caught up unawares he can 2 turn a warrior. I also suspect he could have one out / near completion already. PBSPY indicates he probably went work boat first and grew and since it was work boat first he most likely thing to grow on is a warrior.

SD FINALLY scouted me. I saw him win against a lion while on a forested hill across a river and he got a promo, so its as certain as can be that he had another battle at some point he was just healing from. This was a couple turns back. Scouted his capital this turn and he is still at size 2. Which with a work boat first opening still seems surprising. Almost wonder if he is doing a size 2 settler.

The View From The Harbor
Unless Xist shocks me, I think I got first city! Roaded under the city tile so got to settle turn settler came out.
New food, couple of floodplains, can share food, and should have great cultural vision.
IF I'm correct SD will settle the plains hill next turn. Plains hill with a wet corn sounds good to me. Mind that is all I can see so who knows. Capitals look identical ISH. First ring wheat for me is nice. To note only TBS grew to size 2 same time I did. However, that is where my micro ended and I'm not continuing it. I actually changed the settler build to warrior because I realized I was an idiot. I was like oh ya I can give the wheat away if I do overflow, but then realized I'll just have rice done by then anyways AND I get 22 production into settlers at size 4, so I only need 2 turns of that and then can go back down to 19 anyways resulting in the same result, but up a warrior.

T30
SD settled exactly where expected. I believe he settled T30 ON turn roll somehow. pbspy shows point increase at that time, but it can't be his capital growing because that is size 1 after a whip...... He revolted T27. He builds something size 2 T28 & T29 and then whips it. With a chop could be a worker. But its SD so could be a warrior rush! (I do suspect a chop into most likely a worker whip; two chops into a settler doesn't make sense for slavery revolt and settling timing). Size 1 capital is interesting.....
