Edit I really need BW sooner than later cant improve any mines till I can chop.

Exactly. So best to review the situation re Oracle regularly: not only do you need the 'full house' of techs for Oracle (unless you turn up some marble) but you might struggle for worker tasks in your capital until BW unless you get pottery or agri.

Quick update will post more later. Did two more turns noticed cows and rice that I will go scout out.

Switched back to the floodplains Meditation in 2 growth in 3 scout in 4 as opposed to meditation in 2 growth in 8 scout in 4. Seemed the better choice.

All right went to a Tigers game tonight so I didnt get to post as much as I wanted but here is an update of the status.

1 turn till Mediation.

I have noticed almost everybodys score going up so they are growing faster time to catch up. I will work flood plains to grow unfortunatly that is at the expense of hammers.

Time to get some worker techs and to continue to explore.

Since I have so many forest around I am not seeing any advantage to scouts over warriiors so I will start training them. I think I will wait till size 3 for the first worker. I do have 3 flood plains and so I think I get get up to size 4 or 5 real quick. Two happy resourses within site need to find another civ to start staking out my territory. Looks like I should be able to put an advanced blocking city out and then back fill.

Have to be careful who I settle towards everyone else has more experiance than me and I dont want to get rushed.

So I am sitting here looking at my screen shot and wondering if I got my religion and I thought it odd I havent run into anyone.

I am thinking I dont have to worry too much for an early rush as it dosent appear anyone is within 3 cities of myself to the north. East looks like coast but that is probably also at least as far.

I dont think there is anyone south of me since I see tundra and I cant imagine Sulla sticking someone down there. talk about a bad place to start (for them).

Need to map out my coast and may have to get fishing at least and maybe sailing sooner than later to send out naval scouts.

Trying my hand at meta gaming or whatever it is called. 3 of us had score increases this turn. The other two dont have Mystisim so I am 99.98% sure I landed the religion.

I set research to Animal Husbandry and I grow again in 5 turns. Second scout out next turn then i will start a warrior.

Now for tech path I am thinking of going to fishing and wheel next then mining and bw. Dont think I will get oracle but I saw land accross the water and I may be on an island. Sulla had said everyone was reachable via galley so I am thinking of spitting out a couple work boats to explore. May even send them out in opposite directions to get the magellen wonder but that depends on what my second scout finds. Still dont know if the water next to the capitol is the open ocean yet.

Just my musings. Will post more latter. Although I do feel like I am talking to myself here.

Ok this is my problem with Civ I want everything all at once.

1) If I go original plan I will have a worker standing around and without wheel no links to my cities which I should start putting out but I could land oracle, 2nd religion and start rexing. Also would have valuable priest points for my holy cities.l

2) If I go fishing, wheel pottery I can cottage my capitol speed up research and go mining/bw while improving and roading to a new city also send out workboat scouts.

I know for certain I wont be able to do both. Decisions decisions....

Congratulations! As for your question, you simply need to think about what you feel is the higher priority. The good news is that in a game like this, you'll have several days to consider your tech path, and perhaps the map info you bring back during that span will tilt things one way or the other. Good luck. smile

So, you should consider what can wait and what can't

You have Hunting and soon you will have Animal Husbandry. That's two squares to improve, which will speed your growth curve A LOT :dancing5: , even if the worker stand still after that, IMO it's worth.

Hmmm, I don't see any reason to go Fishing, you don't have any sea resource, IMO it can definitely wait. If I were you, after AH I will consider Minning and Bronze Working. You have lot of food, and many forested hills, and with choping hammer and whiping whip you can speed your growth A LOT.
