[Spoilers] A Grand Ol' Adventure: Dain the Caswallawn of the Grigori

How many units attacking vs. how many defending? I would think that you can expect that each of your Warriors would kill at least one Barb Warrior before dying, so a 3-4 unit garrison would go a long way.

Have you gotten an Adventurer yet? It seems from your last update you should have a ~16-XP unit available. A four-promotion Warrior should be almost unbeatable in a city.

Yeah I got an Adventurer quite some time ago. Don't have the gold to promote it though, and besides I want mage heroes!

As nice as mage heroes sound, they take forever to get and you'll end up with 100xp by then. I'd get a Heroic warrior with your first adventurer and use him for barb defence/attack.

Huh. I survived. I honestly didn't see that coming, especially since every barbarian warrior had combat 1 and I had none. Not one of my warriors died either.

And I also shave off two turns on my mining research!

Maybe now would be a good time to go after those barb cities, assuming they've just shot their bolt?

And I agree with Square Leg - a combat hero or two would be a big help in the early barb smashing game.

Yeah a stack of five more barb warriors just arrived though, so no rest for the wicked!

I'll try to go after the barb cities after that though.

Well i've successfully fended off all attacks, but the barbarians are still pouring in, another stack of 4 warriors are nearing from the north, and right behind them is 3 more warriors.

I think Selrahc has lost a city to barbarians, as his score has plummeted, which is a shame of course.

Now that there's a civ-killing wraith wandering the map, upgrading an adventurer is more important than ever. Big plans for the later game are pointless if you can't survive to implement them. I recommend 0% science until you have enough cash for an upgrade. If the upgraded adventurer helps you capture a barb city, that will more than pay back the upgrade cash.

Are wraiths visible?
