PB24 Lurker Thread of Infinite Disappointment and Delay

I have some Python code with some utilities that make debug mode a bit easier to use, and lets you adjust things like food/hammers in the box, and beakers invested in techs. I know I posted it somewhere on these forums, once.

Let me know if you find it! smile
If you know what I mean.

That interface is slightly cumbersome, requiring you to specify integers instead of city/tech names, etc., so this simplifies things a bit.

You use this module by downloading zak.py and dropping it in your ...\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Assets\Python folder. (This will trigger modified assets warnings if you connect to a pitboss, but you can ignore those.)

You enter the Python debug console by hitting Ctrl + Shift + ~ after setting cheatcode=chipotle in the .ini file. Then you can import my module as follows:

Code:
from zak import *

Which will print a friendly welcome message.

Example of my module in action - before:

Using the console and making some changes:

After:

Anyway, this is just something that I made for my own convenience, but if you're in the habit/need of changing things using the debug console, it can be a nice timesaver.

The map looks interesting, overall. May need to reduce the number of huts though.

Looks like I should have suggested changing the hut results, too. Anyway, I've learned two things from this game setup.

1. If you want a competitive game, turn off the random stuff. Huts, events, barbs.
2. Check the game settings! I can't believe everyone missed the espionage setting for five turns, especially the guys who had some pre-game plans involving espionage. duh

This thing is kind of a train wreck and if it doesn't get going I'm going to feel a bit bad for Seven and the time wasted on scripting a solution to the map reshuffling. Although I guess the script could be used again if the players for some reason want to start another new pitboss with another new version of this map. twirl
