RBP3 [SPOILERS] Team Nice Shot - Pacal of Carthage

Shoot the Moon Wrote:I think that nugget about the three of us working together sounds awesome, however my sense also is that it is something that would be good not to bring up immediately.

Re: diplomacy with Krill. Have you sensed that chatting works a lot better with Krill than does emailing? I feel like that may be part of the reason that we have good relations with Krill (at least based off what Chasm's chat suggests). I'd say we should try to keep those up when we have something to work out with Krill whenever possible.

I'm glad we got that agreement in the North-East. I really feel no need to rush on the southeast, as we won't be founding a city there for a long while probably (we have 3 cities I would value: blue dot, northern sheep, and North-East).

I hope you understood the discussions of everyone who was at war better than I did lol I am still having trouble wrapping my head around all the teams in the game, who is in what alliance, what players = what civ etc. I think it is particularly hard for me to understand them when we don't have map knowledge on most of them. I'll let you handle that for now I think wink

Okay, I'm glad you like the threesome idea. One of the things we discussed in our chat was that the CAN cannot last forever. Even when it dissolves, the correct move will be to eliminate CANT before turning on each other - since if this works, they will be technologically inferior. But when that time comes, I'd rather be aligned with Krill (who shoots from the hip) and CHASM (their diplomacy has been so easy, it really is more like talking to an old friend than negotiating) than anyone else...

Regarding Krill, yes, I agree, chatting is much easier than e-mail. Although ever since we came to the border agreement, his e-mails seem much simpler and friendlier. Hopefully that lasts.

And regarding understanding all the wars... no, it's all over my head right now. LOL... I'm starting to figure it out, but it'll help when we have more contacts. Speaking of... (see next post..)

Shoot the Moon Wrote:We now have contact with India as their warrior appeared on the tile we will be sending our workers to. I have NOT requested masonry from them yet, figuring it would probably be polite to have an email accompanying the request, instead of having it be our first contact with them wink

I moved Jammie back towards lakewood, as a barb warrior appeared outside of its borders (that way, we can move Jammie into the city for hapiness if we need to attack the barb).

India is the one I'm most excited for, as masonry will help us sooner rather than later, and they are in the middle of the most important war in the world right now. Contact with them is very important to figure out the diplomatic situation.

I will send them a note and then request borders & masonry in game. Before I send though, I have to ask... I followed them in PB2 and was rooting for their cause.. were you? If so, I will include it in the note...

Mr. Nice Guy Wrote:First, I am intrigued by the idea, and actually rather like it. Would you mean change to worker T68, whip T69?

Exactly. I think we would then work both sheep for quick growth (obviously cuts into our research, but we'll be on gold then anyway).

Actually, it might be more effective to do the whipping a little later (t70 switch build, t71 whip or so) so that we can work the food box to immediately go back to size 3. I'll play around with it a bit.

Yeah, I was. I think we may have been the only two lurkers rooting for them lol

Did you just try to log into the game by chance?

Nope... I was in about a half hour ago but logged out when someone bounced off me. I figure I'll have a closer look after daughter's bedtime.

Ok, I was just getting stuck on the finishing screen. Eventually got through, but it took almost 3 min. Hmmm.

By the way, I took a look in game. I think it will work out almost perfectly for us to have the capital switch from that new cottage to the sheep (I already did that, actually). On t70 it should switch to a worker, which it double whips on t71 (at size two work both sheep). This will allow us to grow back to size three on t72. From that double whip, my math says we should get 28 hammers overflow, which will finish the chariot (in addition to the 10 hammers we will already have invested).

At that point, we could either put hammers in a barracks or another chariot while waiting for the copper to be hooked up (probably another chariot to play it safe).

One final note: we should ask Krill what we will be researching next. We are going to have some overflow beakers from Math, so we will have to know on t70 what tech to click to overflow into. I think it might make sense for us to research Construction, as we seem to have the highest research capacity, and that is a very important military tech. Of course, if Krill already has someone saving gold to rebound to that, they would probably come out faster than us.

In the response to Krill (I see you are drafting it), it might be worth mentioning to him that we will need alphabet by t70 in order to be able to give England math (or I guess he could gift it to England, but considering England seems to have contact with Exploit and we don't, I would see us getting it as being more logical).
