Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

I can't get the copper hooked up before T46. Even Roading the Forest before it was chopped and bringing in the second Worker to help with chopping made things worse.

Gah, chess in Civ. I think we should just go for the simple and go SW-SW, security and all that. Getting them to march off of the highlands would be great.

You know, I think we'll have a problem reinforcing Tortuga, as our first Axe doesn't reach the city until T52... who else can see us horribly losing this? If they went for Chariots instead of Axes... uh oh.

I guess that means we should tech Hunting - Archery to get an Archer in Tortuga. Can we sim how fast we can get an archer there?

Here is the most recent power graph (from TEAM):

Rather than going for archer can we hook up tortuga to the bronze and build/whip a spear if we need if we are faced with chariots?

The reason we have to be so careful with our Q movements is because Barbados is left COMPLETELY UNDEFENDED if we simply stack our three Q's in Tortuga. We're stuck playing Zone Defense without roads, so we need to show enough force to discourage both an attack on Tortuga and advance on Barbados. SW is the correct move for this turn. I think that with the help of our workers roading we can get the Axe there one turn quicker, and road connection will be about the same time frame.

I have no experience reading power graphs, but to my untrained eye we appear to have equal gains since the beginning. Why did green and white start higher than us?

Starting techs have different powers. So they might have room for another warrior. Are we ok on turn playing? I can't get to it today.

settle on the copper? Has that been tried?
Also - how about whipping that settler along with the chop on t42 - the overflow can go into a worker (since it looks like roads are needed between tortuga and the capital).

I'll go ahead and take the turn now since I have a few minutes. I may not have time to post any pictures but if that's the case I'll post them later this evening.

[EDIT] Turn Played, I grabbed a picture of demographics before & after ending turn (not sure if someone got them yet this turn, and I don't think anything changed after but got both just in case). Just let me know if they haven't been posted for this turn and I can do that later.

Hey that's a good idea by Pindicator. Why don't we settle on the copper. That saves us havin to road or mine the tile. Which means we can connect tortuga faster with the workers. We lose the copper production but in desperate times this is a food choice.

If we road the tile south of the copper then settler can get to copper tile in one turn and settle the next turn. Allows Barbados to build an axe one turn after building a settler.

No, we haven't tried settling on the Copper or whipping a Worker. Settling on the Copper, because that's a really good tile, and whipping a Worker because I think we were saving that whip for an Axe or two?

Hang on...
