[spoilers] - Pindicator makes America great again!

I don't see a way forward with this war scooter. We need to delete the units in the city and retreat. Those swords are going to cut to pieces anything I put in the city, and the reinforcements are 2 turns out. So we'll end up losing 5 units to kill 4, which would have been fine if I had razed the damn city like I should have.

After that I don't know.

Ouch. I was just assuming you were planning on burning that one. I should have suggested it.

I don't really know what to suggest now. I guess you could raid his coastal cities a bit and try to cripple him so that you can finish him off later, but yeah, I don't know. Seems like he's pretty well prepared. Has his power spiked?

No. He's been saving gold and I think he upgraded units on the IT. He's been clued in since he canceled our OB probably.

I don't know why I didnt' burn it. I was thinking burn it. And then stupid happened. I really hate that you can't assess the situation once you capture a city, but ... the lesson people is always burn.

It's so bad a mistake it makes me want to quit the game.

I ended up deleting both horse archers inside of Agra. (I mean, here's another mistake: why did I even unload that horcher into the city after taking it? I'm playing worse than my NBA team is right now...) I also deleted 1 of the 2 horse archers outside of the city. If he wants to move forward to kill it I'm happy to trade units with him there -- his spears are also out of range, so it would just be swords. I kept the remaining horse archers & chariot on forest tile they landed last turn.

Next turn I can drop a pair of archers onto that tile to provide them some cover. Then we're hoping to keep flooding 2metra with units and using our galleys to stretch him out. This would have been the plan anyway, except now I have to do it while he has iron hooked up still.

What a colossal blunder...

Maybe 2metra meant that he can't connect to the game as in it is such an emotionally taxing feat that he feels incapable of doing so?

If so, I can't connect either

SCENE - INTERROGATION OF PINDICATOR
PINDICATOR sits in a chair at the far end of the room. 2METRANINJA rests behind an oaken desk at the opposite end of the room.

2metraninja: You're in a pitboss, simming along in a sandbox when...

Pindicator: Is this the test now?

2metraninja: Yes. You're in a pitboss, simming in your sandbox when all of a sudden you look down and see a...

Pindicator: What one?

It was a timid interruption, hardly audible.

2metraninja: What?

Pindicator: What pitboss?

2metraninja: Doesn't make any difference what pitboss... its completely hypothetical.

Pindicator: But how come I'd be there?

2metraninja: Maybe you're fed up, maybe you want to win a game...who knows. So you look down and see a city. It's quite close to you...

Pindicator: A city. What's that?

2metraninja: Know what a town is?

Pindicator: Of course.

2metraninja: Same thing.

Pindicator: I never seen a town. All of my settlements are lucky to have a food resource.

He sees 2metraninja's patience is wearing thin.

Pindicator: But I understand what you mean.

2metraninja: You reach down and invade the city, pindicator.

Keeping an eye on his subject, 2metraninja notes the bar graphs in the demos screen. One of the graphs quivers slightly.

Pindicator: You make up these questions, Mr. 2metraninja, or do they write 'em down for you?

Disregarding the question, 2metraninja continues, picking up the pace.

2metraninja: The city lays in ruins, its buildings baking in the fire, struggling to rebuils. But it can't. Not with out your help. But you're not helping.

Pindicator's upper lip is quivering.

Pindicator: Whaddaya mean, I'm not helping?

2metraninja: I mean you're not helping! Why is that, Pindicator?

2metraninja looks hard at Pindicator, a hard piercing look. Pindicator is flushed with anger, breathing hard, it's a bad moment, he might erupt. Suddenly 2metraninja grins disarmingly.

2metraninja: They're just questions, Pindicator. In answer to your query, they're written down for me. It's a test designed to provoke an emotional response.

Pindicator is glaring now, the blush subsides, his anger slightly diffused. 2metraninja smiles cheerfully, very smooth.

2metraninja: Shall we continue?

Pindicator nods, still frowning, suspiciously.

2metraninja: Describe in single words. Only the good things that come to your mind. About your dedlurker.

Pindicator: My dedlurker... I'll tell you about my dedlurker.

Unable to handle the strain of questioning, pindicator declares war on 2metraninja.

Turn 124

Well, I did say that this would be the last thing we do this game. I didn't mean it in the way that I'd screw up the war, but I guess that fits...

2metra took my bait, and sent a sword to kill the lone horse archer I left behind. So I took it back. I think unit trades favor us since we have the larger production and unit pool. It does not favor us in that the war will drag on, but that's what it has to be after not razing Agra.

Dropped off a pair of archers onto the forest with the horse archers. Next turn I might move to the hill; I might decide we need to build up more. I might build up and then come with a second stack on galleys to raid the coast and make him defend multiple points at once. Right now I see 6 units total: 3 swords, 3 spears. I'm sure there will be more.

Turn 127

As the primary season winds down, so to winds down our civilization. Not wanting to leave the media spotlight, we've gathered our forces for one last harrah against the tyrant that is being insignificant.

With catapults and triremes coming out for our opponent, I don't see how this can go well for us. But what else can we do? Once we decided on the path for war we were stuck on it, for better or worse. Asking for peace here would just be asking to sit quietly in the corner while the game goes on in spite of me. Actually, it will do that regardless of whether we win or lose here. (Spoiler alert: we're going to lose.) So I might as well go out with a bang.
