A couple of things:
Sulla never said that Parkin was a jerk. He said that Parkin's actions would upset him and that he wouldn't play with him... but never got personal.
Saying that someones actions are bad/annoying/etc is not the same as making a character assessment of that person as a bad person.
I think that Mackoti and Seven are mainly upset because they thought they were outplaying the opposition and have been screwed by the RNG. I kind of agree with that - I don't know how rational the attack really was. That said, it also might have been the best chance for that team - they were powerful then, and MackSeven looked to be gaining in power.
That said - building pyramids is a good way to say "I just spent 275 hammers NOT building axes..."

2 things:
1. You're right, those terrible odds were the best odds Xenudore were ever going to get.
2. SMack will bounce back.

Of course it won't always work out, but the consequences for success/failure may be better than the consequences for not taking the shot at all.

Yeah, this. How many games have seen here where someone plays an outstanding first 50 turns and then everyone just quivers in fear at their awesome might, then 50 turns after that they have Rifles and the others are limping to Knights. The early game is often the best chance to hit these potential runaways because military is a Rock-Paper-Scissors dice roll at that point. Especially because that guy who just built all the wonders or micro'ed himself out to 10 cities super fast certainly wasn't researching advanced military techs let alone building loads of units. Bring a combined arms stack, hope for the best. Sure beats sitting around and watching the other guy figure out how to get Modern Armor on the board.
Of course, thanks to slavery its still overwhelmingly likely to fail. But in a game with humans and where snowball is king, sitting around and hoping for the guy who just proved he knows what he's doing to screw up is pretty much guaranteed to fail.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

From Rome's thread:

Obviously this does not scale with physical location, but it does appear to give an idea about the various cells of players on the pangaea.
Nice topological work there, though it bear very little similarity with how the map actually looks

Not to forget that Sevens post of having contact with LP was a trick which LP played along with.

The erroneous link between LP and MackSeven (due to misinformation posted in the public player thread) messes it up. The top part doesn't look too bad I think? I don't really remember the global layout.
I have to run.

I think they did a pretty good job of piecing that together. They identify ASM as the choke point between the two major groups.
I didn't include the connections, but here is the world map and starting positions. (Us = Rome)

Some things to note:
1. Carthage and Ethiopia are 12 tiles apart.
2. MackSeven are actually a bit further east - the picture didn't take the full width of the actual game. They're 13E 3N from Azza
3. Mostly the starting units are where the green bars are, except while I was trying to scroll in-game I accidentally put a ton of barb lions in, which is what those clumps of green bars are
Waterbat, that looks great, but gotta credit Rego way back in the pregame...
