Idea for India:

Quote:Hey DJ's,

Well things are definitely interesting, that's for sure! Again, congratulations on wiping out Sumeria so quickly, though we are thankful that you didn't finish them any quicker for obvious reasons smile.

Brief update on the state of the SsS empire. We are 95% sure Portugal is sending chariots at us right now. We understand their motives, but we believe they have handled the whole thing quite dishonorably. We had a discussion with Mukha after we saw the whips on Civstats, and he (twice) has given us his word that they were not headed in our direction. Unfortunately for him, we have been able to figure out his lie and are fully prepared to deal with the attack.

A few questions for you... First, what is your stance on Portugal's aggression? I mean let's not kid ourselves, we have to consider the possibility that you would join (or at least aid) Portugal, given the fact that you are both CAN members after all. We are not necessarily surprised that they are gunning for us, but the manner in which they are doing so is disappointing to us - we thought they were more honorable than that.

Well you asked "so now what?" We were thinking the same thing ourselves, so we'll ask a few questions to see where things go. First, what are the prospects of working with your civilization going forward? I mean that question might be totally irrelevant if your chariots are joining on Portugal's suicide mission :D... but are we considered "unclean" because we are not in CAN? And what is the expected lifetime of CAN? Until all non-members (a.k.a. us) have been destroyed, or will it fizzle out in the near future?

Well regardless of your answers, we wish you good luck. Thanks!

Idea for DIM:

Quote:DIM,

Hey guys, things have been awfully quiet from you guys lately, so we figured we'd send you a message to see how you guys were doing smile. Anything interesting happening in your part of the world?

Things have gotten very interesting on our front lately - as Portugal is currently sending chariots our way. How we know about it is a long story, but regardless it has definitely added some spice to the current diplomatic situation. We were well aware that Portugal was whipping out an army, but Mukha more than once gave us his word that those chariots were not headed in our direction. It is disappointing to us to know that he was telling direct lies over and over, as we thought Portugal was more honorable than that. Do you trust them to not do the same to you?

Well hopefully things are going well for you guys, and we're looking forward to hearing from you soon smile.

So what are your thoughts on those two messages? Hopefully we can spread a little bit of doubt inside CAN...

I like the one for DJ, send away.

As for DIM, I rather see that we do not send them anything until we have had a reaction to my telling them to bugger off with their warrior.

I agree about Ruff. He is being very up front, but also be aware that he is allied to DJ and DIM and that he certainly isn't doing a good job hiding that CAN is supposed to kill off the remaining civs. It might be worth a shot trying to befriend him and DJ, though Ruff will need to drop the "you threatened me and now my feelings are hurt"-act and admit that it was the right thing to do from our point of view.

Picture Update:

Still no visible attack force. And Cath Bruig haven't even connected their Horse, so either they're getting it in trade or something is really fishy here.huh

The silver is now connected and I slaved those Spears as I said I would. Our Horse is visible at the edge of the second screen.

Mali has joined the CAN so we're now outnumbered 5 to 10. And to my knowledge they didn't even have any military pressure on them. Sigh!

We've gotten some emails and I've sent some responses. Don't feel like updating atm though as the game is turning in a rather unfun direction. Might do it later today unless scooter jumps at it.

Apparently Babylon joined CAN as well, so it's actually a 4 vs 11 now. This is getting silly...

Yeah this is dumb. I saw the email last night and didn't even want to post anything on here. I have no interest in playing another tech trading pitboss game, or at least not one with nearly this many people (10+).

Maybe we bluffed them out of attacking? I mean look, if for some bizarre reason we were wrong about them attacking, they would've sent us back an email denying it - and they've sent us nothing. Maybe we scared them away?

Also, gee thanks Mali and Babylon for waiting until tech trading to tell us.

I thought that with this many teams it would be likely that three blocs of 5-6 civs each would form, or maybe even four blocs with 4-5 civs. Instead we get one huge bloc with 11. I cling to my opinion that any alliance that includes a majority of the teams provides nothing but lame game play no matter what side of the fence you are on, as long as such an alliance is still in place.

Yeah maybe. It's quite a shame if we did though as I would like to spill some blood before tanks comes rolling in against our ancient era units. On the other hand, however, we may still be able to carry out Operation Sand Peddler. Razing even a single CAN city would count as a victory in my book.
