[Spoilers] Amelia, Tempest of the Seas

I just saw again that Darrel is splitting his forces...

One through Bracada Desert... and one through EAST CHECKPOINT!!!!

I sent 5 cultists behind, waiting for him to go near the coast. Raging Seas is ready. I hope he comes closer.. (If there are more than 20 vamps in that stack, i'll raging seas them to ... vampire afterlife?)

I bought every unit that was nearing completion this turn. Ending turn gives me another 4 Horse Archers, and a Lunatic that isn't crazy!

We're ready!

Also o fuck all those spectres are strength 8. But if darrell actually seperates them, those vamps are dead.

According to Darrell, Saverous is dead. I threw him onto Bracada Desert with a ton of cultists, and an axe. He can't be attacked by vampires, and spectres needed to walk both steps before attacking hi.

Did my plan work? Are those vampires defenseless?

Damage report time!

First things first, Black Wind is dead... Darrell threw a ton of fireballs at it.

Surprisingly, each fireball gave me 3 gold, huh... could be an exploit.

Saverous took out... 5-6 spectres? =(

So let's look at the battle situations! First we have the north =

Bad news is: Bracada is taken by spectres. Mean little spectres. Good news?

THE VAMPIRE STACK IS FREE TO ATTACK

I will have to sacrifice hemah, but goddamn, it's free?

I moved Hemah into the forest 1e of the spectres, and my units slightly back.

One Dance of Blades and another Courage later... and we're attacking!

First: That spectre in the way...

Next: Horse Archers who just arrived and needed mobility to attack. The first result is against a Royal Guard....

And he's down!

But of course the vampires are stronger then said royal guards, so my light/flanking HAs (5 of them) go in first.

And i apologize for this part. I was so excited, i forgot to take any pictures =) Words will have to do.

Galvados/JJ went in first. Galvados died, JJ survived. No idea how much damage they did though. Romaria survived. Aesop survived. Drew was strength 7, and thus a bit stronger.
Survived as well.

Golly died at 6%

Luka promoted Flanking and retreated.
Few promoted Flanking and retreated.

3/5 survived, one won!

WHAT DO YOU MEAN I"M OUT OF HORSE ARCHERS DAMN YOU HEAVY HORSES. 6 of them couldn't even attack. ARGHHH

Total Battle:

20 dead vampires, several other dead units.
25 vampires remain!

46 HAs remain!

Final picture:

My HAs who didn't attack are mostly heavy/stoneskin/heroic defense people, so they have a better job defending.

But hemah is left alone...

Hmm....

On second thought, i have to leave hemah there, along with 6 cultists / one HA / my hunter. The more spectres he use on that stack, the more HAs i'll save. I thought of converting to no state religion, but shucks. Gotta sacrifice Hemah.

How about....
Researching Deception 100% now for Gibbon!
7 Turns... then i'll get my nightwatch, while i'll spread esus, convert, and rush buy Gibbon.

But let's see what Darrell does first.

Also at the bottom, a huge stack of skeletons/vampires are coming. My Cultists are waiting... ready to spring that Raging Seas... (Although i feigned that i was doomed at my SE to Darrell =)) Gotta use every advantage i have.

That's it for T175. stay tuned for the next turn of the war!

And my entire HA stack is destroyed. Commencing operation port wipeout, or scorched earth.

Or more like it, scorched seas =).

Might want to scorch down the plains to desert or something.

That.. is a very good point. The bounty hunter promotion and an ally willing to throw training dummies at you and split the cash makes it a very very exploity idea that can be used by any civ willing to throw away a promo on an experienced unit.

AND DARRELL FELL FOR IT!!!
O gods i'm laughing my head off.

Here was the stack initially:
4 Tsunamis... and a Raging Seas later =)

I boated over 2 of my lunatics, and another walked over, leaving one vampire left.

Now i don't mind exiting the game smile Clearly the strengths of the Lanun has been shown.

So how many dead vampires now altogether?

Hmm, Darrell says he can't recover anymore, but neither can i. Looks like Uberfish is winning this PBEM. Had fun playing this!

I really have no more mood to play this anymore though, apart from using tsunami to destroy everything else i had left.

10 units left against 20 soish angry vampires? :P Not a contest i think.

Postgame:

Goddamn i had fun with this PBEM. Apart from the beginning researching fishing. Heh.

Slaughtering Orthus for his axe and a 26 exp warrior were the highlight of the early game. Stealing a city from Ilios, while not contributing at all to the dogpile which got Serdoa demolished? Hmm...

Not to mention the slight defense i had when Ilios wanted to came calling, or when i wanted to attack Darrell (who had vampires) with Saverous and 4 swordsmen...

Then of course, signing super huge naps, getting 2 other cities which contributed in the end about 10 extra HAs, and 6 cultists? Along with temples and such? Wow.

Not to mention Krabby Beach, which was next to Uberfish. I'm surprised Uberfish gave me that city, it's 2 crabs for goodness sakes.

Blight, which sent Fishing Parch to size 1, but everything left at full size, was hilarious.

Not to mention the book "The apocalypse and you: Guide to surviving the Horsemen" of Darrell.

Then of course my defense was exciting to play out. Swearing at the 45% losses, cheering when Gob (leader of the Green Goblins btw), slaughtered darrell's best vampire at 1.7% odd!!

And of course, the deception i had to make to darrell so that he'll fall for stuff. Putting Saverous in Bracada along with a few cultists to make him waste spectres and leave his vampire stack unprotected? Priceless.

Putting Hemah in a place where Darrell can use spectres to kill him and his merry men, but leaving the vamps unprotected again? Too bad he didn't fall for it this time :P

And of course, the huge bottleneck at East Checkpoint. Sea Goddess must be overjoyed at the sacrifice of 20 vampires, 2 ritualists, beasts, hunters, a hawk...

Wow. Lanun might be underpowered compared to the giants, but damn they have a lot of tricks =)
Quote:Here were some other tricks i did:

1. Building the Black Wind and telling Darrell i did it so he didn't suspect me researching Optics just for my world spell.

2. Sending half of my cultist stack to their death so that he moved in along the hilarious bottleneck (Thanks to Sevenspirits for including it in, it was one of the best parts of the map in my opinion! (and the super lake).

3. Putting Lunatics in boats so that they don't get berserked, then dropping them in cerulean, adding mobility, and sending them straightaway.

4. Setting up ridiculous resource trades that only i benefit from (No really, giving away a pig for both a sheep and an ivory?).

5. Making a road through the bottleneck to Darrell's cities so that i could sneak some armies in, forcing him to put 25 skeles there. Come to think of it, the ocean is full of bones now.

6. Barbarian Mistform, my giant spider. That was funny.

7. That insane buildup of Horse Archers. I've never been military oriented, so the 60+ in unit cost was shocking me. Not to mention that 66 HA stack... i've never seen anything like that before in SP play.

8. Mutation. I had all sorts of mutated horse archers :P.

With that said, my comments on the other players will come once i read their lurker threads (which will come once i get eliminated or this game ends!).

This will probably be my last post for a long while in this thread, so lurkers, thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed the journey of

Amelia, Hannah of the Irin.
Tempest of the Seas.
Sacrificer of Vampires.
Owner of Orthus' Axe (Until a spectre stole it away).
Distributor of Seafood (Thanks to Darrell/Uberfish settling 0 cities on the coast, i had all the seafood in the game).
Proud Monarch of Radiata City, the best City in an RPG to date =)

Bye bye! Hope to see you all in other PBEMS!

Edit: Tredje, i killed around 35-45 vampires. That's much more than i expected =)
