That was what I was thinking originally, yes.

I'll see where we are when I log in next.

Finished the turn. Decided to move with the sentry - by moving out a bit we fogbust quite a lot of territory that can't spawn barbs. We can still heal in place afterwards with the enhanced vision if we decide to.

Left tech on 50%. We can do 40% next turn and then go back to saving. Hopefully we'll have a bit more juice to plow through Math if that's our next tech.

Cancelled the roading worker. If we're sending Cockaigne's settler directly to 2nd gold then we probably aren't returning to finish that road though, so we'll probably just complete it next turn and need another worker for the Atlantis/Eden region since the workers in the Gems city region will be occupied for a while I guess.

We can move the worker that is roading NW of Eden to complete the road towards 2nd gold. Val is going to grow into unhappy next turn and we will start a worker. That worker can finish cottaging around Val.

The two workers by Eldorado could split up, one starts roading towards the NE site. One roads towards the Moai site. The one going to NE can pasture the sheep too.

We may or may not want sailing for lighthouses next. Since it's cheap. We'll need lighthouses for 4 cities soon. 5 with 2nd gold. + it might be nice to get a galley out of El Dorado.

Alright, I went ahead and just played this one in the hopes we might see another turn today. There were really only a couple of decisions that I made/needed to be made so I'll talk about those.

First off, with the settler complete, I went ahead and started running the first scientist in Eden. This allowed me to cut tech to 30% and still get Iron Working. We're probably going to tech Sailing before Mathematics, but that's still a little bit up in the air. Nonetheless, we'll have almost no overflow and be saving gold the next couple turns, so we've got maximum flexibility.

Eden will grow to 4 and start working the second scientist in 6t after it gives the corn to Gems city next turn, so barring us needing to whip or some other shenanigans it should be 20t to a scientist so in theory we could found an Academy on t91. Not lightning fast by any means, but not terrible. Eden has been the MVP of the early game, banging out two critical settlers, a couple workers and some warriors at needed times but its era of being much more than food filler is coming to an end. RIP in pepperonis, Eden. wink

As much as I wanted the chariots to heal, I did some math and figured out we really need to first the location of 2nd gold city soon so we can figure out the worker actions and such. So I did a little exploring.

We need to see more, but I think it boils down to the two spots noted by ? and checkmark. I think the checkmark spot is superior in that it can borrow fish from Atlantis to get started and then claims both gold and wheat. But I'm also not sure if we actually want/need that much overlap. The ? gets gold and crabs first ring but is otherwise clunky. Again, we'll wait until we explore along the arrowed path before deciding for sure.

Other than that, just continued the things Lewwyn discussed last turn. Shangri-La will be settled at the gems next turn, settler for gold is about 6t from being planted depending on our decision on final location.

FWIW, TBS just had a huge power spike so I'm guessing he grabbed an early IW as well.

I ended turn and will report after dinner. Turn was pretty much everything we'd already planned.

So IW came in. We have 2 iron.

First is in a nice place:

This makes El Dorado and even stronger production center. Also I think that the north might be an island. Settling the double deer iceball might be super good for our economy.

Workers need to head there after their mines are finished. Grasshill worker can move NW-SW into El Dorado and then onto the iron from there.

The other:

Oh well. We settled on it. That sucks a bit.

Scouting reveals another grass sheep up there. Maybe helps with gold city decisions.

Settled Shangri-La:

Both workers moved to Gems. It will be improved in 4 turns, connected in 5.

I think I'm leaning towards settling at Question Mark and then pushing Checkmark 1S and settling that later.

Sucks about Iron. 1E on the plains tile would have been ideal.
