Mortius Wrote:Hmmm, I don't see any reason to go Fishing, you don't have any sea resource, IMO it can definitely wait. If I were you, after AH I will consider Minning and Bronze Working. You have lot of food, and many forested hills, and with choping hammer and whiping whip you can speed your growth A LOT.

I need either fishing or Ag to get to pottery fishing is only 5 turns right now probably less once I grow one more and build the worker. Also I think it may be to my advantage to get on the water sooner than later. But I have 10 turns to scout some more to find out for sure.

Edit: I am falling behind in posts even with all my ramblings....

Think I may do some creative tile management to get some 2 turn warriors out once I hit size 4. Think a worker would be prudent next though.

Edit Kind of a note to self here but if I am insane let me know.

Alrignt not on an island and have spotted a couple choke points I may want to control then back fill. Cities on plains hills are good right.

1 Scout found Da Bears but since it is thier first encounter it should be an autowin. I hope.

Going to grow to 4 plus 1 or 2 turns spit out a two turn warrior and then train worker. I have to starve for the 2 turn warrior but I want at least one for now.

Ok here is my known world

I am debating sending eastern scout further east or looping around back to the capital

Northern scout is going to back track and check out the eastern part of that land mass before moving on.

Northern scout beat a bear and is at .8 health. I may stop him to heal

Question. How soon should I expect to have my first city out. One drawback on the slow speed is I feel I am way behind but it is only turn 14.

Ok this is what I need the most help with is city placement. Here are my thoughts with what I have seen so far. It looks like 4 decent cities. Let me know what you think

Oh down at the bottom on the unforested tundra are beavers I need to get something down there to link them up.

Also will move another city up towards the corn/clams when I get to see what is up there.

I'm no authority on city placement, but it seems to be a rule of thumb to never found one tile off the coast. Wouldn't blue dot be just as good (better rather, since it could build a lighthouse, harbor, ships, etc. and still wouldn't get any ocean tiles - just coast) say one tile west?

Whether the southern/eastern scout loops back toward the capital might depend on how much land looks to be down there to be scouted. It'll also depend on his overall mission though. Hoping to find more good city sites? It might be worthwhile to circle closer to the capital, since cities founded nearby should cost less maintenance and be easier to defend. Looking for other civilizations? Probably have him keep putting distance between himself and your capital - though if there is somebody very close, that'll be very important to know, obviously! Another consideration: Will your new warrior be exploring some when he's ready? If he will be, the Scout should probably leave the areas nearest Aachen for the warrior to spot, eventually heading back west. Being slower, the warrior should probably be given the task of (nearby exploration and home defense or) heading out to the presently-much-closer fog in the southwest while the quick Scout, even if he doubles back a bit, proceeds east.

It's probably a bit early to plan a lot of cities without metal/horse visible, but looking at it, I feel that assuming the clam is on a significant body of water, I'd like to have a city N-NW of the blue dot so it can be used as a canal and two way port, and then move the cow/rice city S-SE (or maybe SE-SE, sorry, because of the fog I'm having a little trouble telling how many hills there are, and if SE-SE is a plains or grass hill) from the blue dot.

Scouts moved.

Northern Scout ran into another bear. Dont know if he will survive. He is at .9 health on a forested hill with woodie 1 promo.

Eastern scout will continue east found another choke point south so he wont be backtracking will use a warrior for that.

Reconfgured Capitol to max hammer to get warrior out in 1 turn. Have to starve off about 4 food but I have plenty.

Borders poped to 3rd level.

AH in 5 now since the reconfigure.

Here is a picture of the known world.

Red circle is the bears next to my scout. He will go east if he survives

Blue circle is location of my other scout which will continue east and swing north if necessary.

Black line is route my warrior will take begining next turn.
