[Spoilers] A Grand Ol' Adventure: Dain the Caswallawn of the Grigori

Sciz Wrote:Are wraiths visible?

Yes. They're just really strong (6+3 death) and fairly fast (2 moves). The wraith will most likely have at least two promotions at this point.

Hm. I'll probably run 0% for a while but not upgrade the adventurer until I have to (ie I see the wraith)

I have enough warriors now to take a city, i've got three with C1 and Shock 1, only problem is that warrior stacks keep coming at me, so I have no time to go take any cities.

Also Ichabod told me he fired his world spell and got a unit nearby me so we got diplo relations.

And Ravus cast stasis which is gonna make the next 14 turns boring as balls

Also, uh I'm in a strike now because of stasis. even if i run 100% gold i'm running -4 gold per turn and I have 0 gold. What now?

The first turn of stasis is glitched, and you lose money. After that, you'll break even for the rest of stasis, just like anarchy.

Great. I thought I was screwed there for a moment.

Defending against multiple barb kill stacks with no production is boring?

Fatal? maybe.

But boring? I don't think so.

(OTOH, I'm just lurking so my idea of entertainment may be a little diferent than if I was playing. )

Good point.

Luckily I have the largest army in the game, except Ichabod maybe since he cast for the horde last turn, I haven't got the new turn yet to check it out.

Still it's not worth taking another city during stasis is it?

That would depend on if you can defend the new city + your existing cities or not.

I haven't the foggiest notion as to whether Stasis affects the barbs or not. If it doesn't you'll wind up pretty exposed to the barbs by capturing another city. If it does affect barbs, you might be able to get away with taking an extra city.

Maybe.

Or maybe not.

Yeah i'll probably just hang on for now. Maybe towards the end of stasis I'll move warriors towards a city to I can take it right away when stasis ends or something.

So Ichabod got a few warriors near me, including a held warrior in the northern city. Not like he can do anything with them there though.

Heh. It looks like you can take that barb city with no losses by just moving in and not attacking the Orcs. Don't do it until after Stasis is over, though: you should defend your cities as a first priority and your improvements as a second. I think barbs can still spawn in the fog during Stasis, so now is not the time to get aggressive. Especially with a wraith still lurking out there somewhere.

Too late for you this game, but for any lurkers: always maintain a cash balance of at least one turn's expenses when your game has the Illians in it and they haven't cast Stasis yet. This would prevent units going on strike.

Clever play by the orcs - they get to use their Horde units for 15 turns without paying maintenance.
